SEO Software, any recommendation?

Featured Replies

Hi

I'm currently in the final stages of my first website, now wanting to concentrate on SEO but also know SEO should of been part of my design, can anyone recommend any SEO software, free or paid?

Is Internet Business Promoter (IBP) any good?

Or is this board all about doing the SEO for yourself and paid software frowned upon? sorry for my ignorance!

cheers

Best SEO software is having a good head on your shoulders.

There are certainly tools out there to help look at what is happening now, but to analyse you need to use your brain.

There is a great list of tools over at SEO Wolf. However, before jumping in using lots of tools, try and understand that you need good copy to work with and that SEO is relly optimising the page for users, not search engines.

If you start making pages for search engines, you will be making spam sites.

I personally always find it easier to get clients to just write the content they want without even thinking about search engines. I'll then go through the content and reword it accordingly to add choice terms and phrases. Content reads a lot better than saying to a client, include these words

  1. in your copy.

Oooh yeah, but if you write it yourself, you can charge a little extra and write it much better.

Clients in my experience are still stuck a little in the catalogue/brochure language of selling themselves and talking about themselves a little too much.

When choosing SEO software to use, make sure you always choose long term effects by reputable SEO software even if you have to wait for a long time as they often limit the number of licenses for the software.

Avoid those companies that will only make your website rank high for a short time using techniques that are violate the search engine’s regulations.

I like all the automated tools that are out there that are there to highlight irregularities or problems on the site but dont bother with the automated submission tools available, waste of time.

There is loads of good / free website evaluation tools out there also.
