I've been asked to put a text search feature into a page, which I haven't done before and don't know how to do. The page will contain a list of products and what I need is a basic text search box, if someone types in a product name, the page should go to the spot where it's listed, or the text should highlight, or similar (so long as they can find it).

 

I thought maybe I could do it with some simple javascript code, so I went looking, and found some, but it didn't work.

 

Any advice? When answering please bear in mind I'm hung over. And stupid. I am a fairly basic html dreamweaver point and click type person who doesn't understand server side stuff or database stuff, unless it is extremely simple.

You could add a google search. That's quick and easy enough.

Try this. Just change the site to search.
