ALT tag position

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Is it possible to move the position of the "alt" pop up.

Im playing with drop down menus, but the alt tag is getting in the way and deselecting the drop down.

Cheers

McG

You mean the alt attribute ?

If you're using image based menus you'd be better off using background images instead of inline ones.

Sorry, i got confused there with the alt tag.

Its the title attribute. I have a normal text menu with title attribute that gets in the way of the rollovers.

why do you have title attributes? sounds like they're unnecessary. your links should be descriptive of their target anyway

post a link to the page otherwise

You could remove it with js, seems pointless though. It shouldn't pose much of a problem, the top right of this page, where the dropdown is with your username on, that has the title attribute, and it doesn't interfere.

Generally, on a elements, the title tag isn't needed as it should be a self descriptive element. Unless your expanding on the information given (like hover over your username on this page, and it says 'Your profile').
