Introduction of Suhosin has broken Google Carts

Featured Replies

Xilo has recently introduced a few new security measures on their hosting service. One of them is the installation of Suhosin.

At the same time, a website that I maintain has stopped working with Google Carts. The Google integration reports states that whenever it tries to connect to my site, it receives an HTTP error code 406. I've never seen this before.

Any thoughts on this? I need to fix this site ASAP. I have found a few suggestions stating that it could be a problem with permissions within the mod_security module, although I am unable to reconfigure this module via .htaccess or altering the php.ini file, as Xilo does not provide me with permissions to do this.

I'm a bit stuck!

Thanks in advance.

Have you looked at the error log? rolleyes.gif - It'll be able to give you specific information about the cause of the error.

Unfortunately, I don't have direct access to the error logs (I don't think). Only Xilo can provide me with these, and they're being utterly crap at replying to emails.

Is this cPanel hosting? If it is, log into cPanel and then look for Error Log, it's under the logs section.

It IS cPanel. But the all the error logs tell me is that I haven't defined an error page for an HTTP 406 error within my .htaccess file! It gives me no clue as to why the 406 error is happening in the first place!

Ok, I wish I could be of more help, but a 406 error can be caused by lots of things. It's probably best you wait to see what Xilo says.

Hi,

You do have access to the error_log for your particular site, they can be found within cPanel.

However, Suhosin has been on our servers for over 12 months now and the configuration we run within that is minimal and will not affect sites.

If you can PM me your ticket ID, I will certainly take a look to see what action is on-going. When there is no obvious issue, it can take some tracking down but without the ticket ID it's going to be hard for me to guess who you might be :)

Hi hairlet,

I think I may have found you - as it's the only ticket similar that is pending investigation.

Have replied to you - please let me know if that wasn't you though.

All, I take back my comment about their service. Being contacted through a 3rd party forum - that's pretty good. FYI, the problem still exists but is being investigated by both Xilo and Google.

Hi,

Your ticket was updated again this morning with a further reply, so I hope that issue is now resolved. Please do come back to us via the ticket, or a post on here if there are any further queries, or problems.
