September 3, 200916 yr looks good but but from an accessibility view point: 1) no skip links (at least not visible) 2) tabindexes are blank 3) access keys were potentially a good idea but conflict with too many different browser defaults so aren't worth the bother 4) you've set a:focus to border:0 thus removing any indication of where focus is... 5) not sure why you've put your logo as a background in a div when you could have placed it directly and therefore included its alt text (and a link back home on it) site map link is broken "buyers tips" would be better as "buyers' tips" or even "buyer's tips" if you're being more personal and addressing each person individually. conventionally the 'about us' section comes first in the nav and 'contact' last: you can put them whichever way you want but logically the 'about us' would be an introduction and would come first... and contact would be better placed visually at the end (it also aligns then with the other contact details i.e. phone and email btw your email address is just sitting there ripe for harvesting by spambots!!! better to just use your form but if you must use your email address then consider using something like this http://www.actwebdesigns.co.uk/ 1 error in your css "can not" should be "cannot" typo: "Test the web designers website." should be "designer's" no favicon: it's a lot easier to find in your bookmarks with one. you have an extra space before your blockquote on the about us page apart from those niggles it looks very clean and aesthetically well put together - nice one
September 3, 200916 yr I am using firefox on my iMac and your contact button is dropping down below contact us, not sure if that is on purpose. I like the rollover effect on your recent project sites. I feel it is almost too white, although I am very much a colour / picture / pattern type person. The page maybe does need more of a focus point, I keep getting drawn to the block colour of the navigation rather than the main content of the page.
September 3, 200916 yr Nice and simple easy to navigate think it should do a bit more though to show your ability even a fading slideshow of projects would do it I think. I would knock the grey text up a bit as it blends into the background a liitle too much on my monitor? espescially the value text in you form. Personally I try to avoid using pure white as a background just because it can be quite stark. try making it a notch or two off white hardly noticeable but takes the starkness away and warms things alittle.
September 3, 200916 yr When I first loaded the website, my eyes were firstly drawn to the huge text about the DDA, and then to the sentence above it which says "You are breaking the law if you have a website that is not accessible to all users". I then thought to myself, I guess this guy must be selling accessible websites? I checked, and sure enough... Not impressed. As a client I would expect to be shown how good your products/services are and enticed to buy them, not greeted with a message that basically says if you don't buy this or have this done then you're breaking the law so you better buy it or else your a criminal. By all means mention the DDA, but not in such large text that it is the first thing the visitor sees. Also, replace "you are" with "you may be" to make it sound friendlier. No comments on the rest of the site as the bad first impression made me close the window without really looking.
