Review of my Blog

Featured Replies

So I decided my web design + marketing site and most importantly the blog needed a major overhaul. The brief - which I gave myself - was simple but professional; my focus has always been on websites designed to sell products/ services rather than graphical master pieces. But as often happens when I'm brief writer, designer and critic I'm now at the stage where what I've put together is Ok - a lot better than before - but there's something not quite right! All input it which bits need improving much appreciated.

Cheers in advance.

It's definitely simple... but I feel it isn't showcasing your skills to its potential. I don't like the background checks, they kinda clash with the white content containers. Maybe add a border to the containers or tone down the background?

I agree with LYKC, the graph paper bg is kinda distracting. Maybe toning it down or as he said settings the content boxes apart from it with a border or maybe a drop shadow would help.

Thanks for the feedback guys, checked background wasn't a hit across the board so that's now gone! Updated version is slightly more graphical and I think has more impact. Second round comments much appreciated!

Much better! I'm likin it :)

Could add a subtle mouse over effect to your navigation and maybe define the projects at the bottom of the page as 'Featured Projects' or 'Current Projects' or whatever works...
