I have been using Cushy CMS and found it really easy to use. The only thing is that it is hosted on the cushy cms website. Is there anything similar that I can run on the server I have the website on?

Well, there are lots of open source cms's you can install on your own server, but cusycms do a pro account where you have to pay but you have it on your own server.

 

That might be an option for you.

Take a look at Pure SEO CMS it doesn't need a server the application is on your computer and you just upload the updates when your ready. It is so flexible to use.

I specialise in bespoke content management systems. I can help you by designing your own CMS to your specific needs. I can develop a CMS much like Cushy for use on your own server. I'd have to take a look at the brief before making a quote but I'd expect I could do this for around £200.
