OK so still having problems with my creative flow but getting a portfolio up became a priority.

 

You've always been so helpful here so i'd love you all to have a quick look at my portfolio and butcher it for me.

No critisicm is to harsh and everything will be taken as helpful advice, i look forward to reading.

I don't agree with landing pages like this. It's just another click to get to your website. And there's no (click here) to get into your site. I appreciate its pretty obvious to click your logo to get in the site, but you are underestimating the lack of common sense of non-techie visitors. It might give the impression that your site is still under construction.

 

Your main navigation in your main page could perhaps be better formatted with ul and li tags, then formatted with css. And there needs to be more contrast on rollover, the colour change is barely noticable. However you receive a point for not using javascript links or graphical links!

 

On your main body text introduction, I didnt even realise there were links within the paragraph. This needs to be made more clear, either by using underline or a contrasting colour to the rest of your paragraph text.

 

our work page. D-visions link doesnt work. On lets do media page I assume that your page graphic has the wrong alt text.

 

Your links don't work in your services page(when javascript is disabled). This isn't necessary really, just make all your text clear from the outset. I would only use javascript or any coding if it was vitally important to the functioning of the website.

Yup, I'm with JMCDesigner.... you need to build the site for non-savvy clients, not designers. At first I thought it was a coming soon page.

 

Overall though, your design ain't bad. Just a few little things.... there seems to be a lot of white space at the bottom of the page which I personally would look better at the top (just to balance it out more)

 

You might want to use a contact form instead of having just an email address (might get abused). I also noticed when I clicked on contact us in the footer, it took me into my outlook. If someone doesn't have an email client installed, then you may have just lost a customer.

Landing page: Yeah i'm not entirely sure why i kept this in, i just sorter stuck it up while i was building and then grew attached to it. Will remove it now though.

 

Contact: Personally never been a fan of contact forms, dunno why just haven't but i'm not building this for myself so i shall do what is best for the customer and build a form.

 

White space: Will try and centre the DIV vertically to rectify this (not that sure how to do that though but i love learning!).

 

Services page: Was never really happy with this, will have a think now i have more time.

 

D-visions link: Woops, there is nothing to show yet so i removed the link just forgot to remove the actual text to lol.

 

Navigation: That is really weird, i normally always format my navigation as lists, on this occasion i can only assume i just plain laid it out and then forgot to change it, cheers for pointing it out.

 

Links: Will play around with colors some more.

 

I'll get working and post back when i have changed things, Anyone feel free to comment i thrive on constructive criticism and welcome it with open arms.

Ok i've had a play, white space still remains an issue as does the service page, and ideas are welcome. I also added a link to home to the masthead logo (something i had forgotten to do oops).

 

Don't forget to be hard on me, i need it .

I would try to get a lighter colour than black as the main background, you graphics just disappear into it. Also the "believe" bit is a bit pretentious - people are there because they want to see what sort of stuff you design and that you come across as someone who they could work with, they don't need concepts thrown at them.

 

All the time keep in your mind that they want to know what you can do for them now in the real world.

The logo is too simple, too big as well, try being more simplistic

 

The colors are great but the co-ordination could use some work.

 

Other then that can't say anything's wrong with it. Good job

The logo is very poor, the text on it looks horrible and I have no idea why people think that putting letters in a rounded box constitutes as a logo..

 

Also, your coding isn't great. You're suffering from divitis! Some of your <div><div><ul> can just be simplified to <ul class="">

 

Not only that, but you're using a LOT of <br /> 's ! Stop it!

 

There's a lot of contrasting alignment on this website. Your logo is left aligned, but then your content's heading is right aligned, then your footer is centre aligned. Make it uniform!

I agree the coding needs cleaning up and this is my top priority, the next time you see it there'll be no more BR's i promise

 

The reason i have the page aligned the way it is is for balance (Left - Right - Centre).

Put more effot into your contact page... the hand looks poor because it's cut off.

Make your input fields the same width as the textarea. Why not use a graphic for your button instead of the default look?

No no no. A web-site is NOT a purely visual thing. A site must be accessible to mobile devies, screen-readers, computers (search-engines etc) - something that Photoshop generated HTML does not do.

Yes, I ment design a full set of visuals in Photoshop, then code it up. I'd never use Photoshop to write HTML!

Ah, ..yea, might have been I that miss-interpreted it.

When i say as few images as possible i mean as few pointless images as possible, if a certain effect can be duplicated in CSS then why add an extra image.
