July 22, 200917 yr Hi Guys, Im new to this website. Would appreciate some feedback on my website. The functionality needs a little work before I start submitting it by the end of the week but would like some general feedback on the design. Look forward to your comments and ideas if any are provided. my psd to html website
July 22, 200917 yr Hi, There are some problems I see; 1. The header ( the big pic) is too overloaded, I think 3 examples will be enough. 2. I am not sure bout the wooden background- its too dominant and out of content. 3. The "order now" button is in a strange place, its squeezed and does not belong to any other part. 4. The " 1 2 3 steps" look more like a buttons because of the white shape in it (where the explanation is) do you need that white? Well I think its enough for now... Good luck! P.S I really like the logo!
July 22, 200917 yr Author Hi, Thanks for the comments. I agree with the order now and steps 1,2,3 etc - That does need attention The wooden background is to represent the crafting of your design once it is submitted. Cheers
July 23, 200917 yr Hi, Your site looks good in my opinion. I do agree with verawolf that cutting down on the number of work examples in the header would look more clean, and I think your Order Now button should be placed after Steps 1 - 3, as makes more sense that way. I know that you perhaps wanted this arrangement to make the Order Now button stand out, but people viewing the site would want to read through what they are ordering first before they would click on that button I think. Is a professional looking site.
July 23, 200917 yr Good background image and everything looks fine except the step2 that is not aligned properly and it is not visible fully.Check it out.
July 23, 200917 yr Very nice site! I agree with header being overloaded it overwhelms you i personally like the background and love the logo.
July 23, 200917 yr Erm... quick point or two... 1. You have a nice big shiny green tick next too: W3C Validation... BUT (can you guess what's coming?)... your site doesn't validate, it has 15 errors in transitional! Not cool dude, you will fall down fast on that point 2. You have a TON of inline Javascript, you should really be coding in a more semantic and structured style if you plan on coding for a living. Design is ok, not great but ok, but that is expected from a coder.
July 24, 200917 yr ...just to add - your table in the bottom right, the tick boxes don't line up with the categories. Loose the wood - what is it with wooden backgrounds at the moment?????? Are they going cheap somewhere? Wood suggests wooden design, and wooden programming. I 'woodn't' use it. (sorry everyone) The pale blue looks out of place - probably the wood again.
July 24, 200917 yr looks good, not sure it suits the target audience? looks good not sure about the background too strong?
July 24, 200917 yr I really like it and I would even keep all of the example webpages in the header, because it gives the impression to clients that you've coded loads of websites and are experienced, but it lets the clients come to that conclusion by themselves. That's not something you can achieve in words. That header is really your portfolio page. I like the wood background. I like the bold fonts. That ORDER NOW button needs moving though for sure, and I think the steps would look better if step 1 was up near where the ORDER NOW button is at the moment.
July 24, 200917 yr Oh there was another thing, I would remove the "Refunds" link at the bottom, because why would I need a refund? Your service is going to be great right? Having a refund link makes it seem like your anticipating people wanting their money back Gives a bit of a negative impression.
July 27, 200917 yr Author Thanks for the comments guys. A lot of valid points. Time to get busy. Cheers
July 28, 200917 yr Love the logo and the general idea and layout. The "order now" button however (i know you're trying to attract attention) is red, the warning colour, probably best to go with a colour which will be less intrusive. Maybe try and pull the saturation down on the background as currently it screams at me when the page loads, you want them to look at the main content. Your service looks very interesting btw.
