Nice job, I like it - its nice and clean.

 

I would change the colour of the green though - it hurts my eyes and I dont think the contrast is that great.

I agree. Your site looks good to me, and the layout is nicely spaced and clear, but that shade of green is far too vivid (a kind of luminous effect almost) in my opinion. I think with it toned down a bit, then your site would look fine.

I also think the green is too big and too bright, the site looks nice, but I would add some more visuals by having some backgrounds/gradients/shading to your columns and menu etc.

You must change the green and the purple before you blind someone.

 

I like the layout and the navigation.

But, here's the thing, not many people will understand your navigation system, imagine someone who can barely use windows xp, and is looking for someone to build them a website... these kind of people will not have a lot of knowledge on how to use websites, believe it or not.. most people dont even know what a browser is...

I would keep the navigation as it is, but maybe add a simpler navigation, like 99% of websites, somewhere else on the page. On the top right perhaps..

Yep another green hater here, also think all the open source logos in the footer are surplus to requirement, as Pedro quite rightly pointed out refering to web design technologies and expecting joe public to know what it is, is not a good idea, most clients dont know what the hell Mysql is or CSS for that matter and frankly they dont even care, all they want is an attractive site that works, and your portfolio has to show that is what they will get, unfortunately your site doesnt really do this.

 

The first page you come to has a lot of blurb about how you used Wordpress and widgets and CMS, this language will be alien to most Clients, you need to target your market better, you are making a lot of assumptions about your potential clients knowledge of web design/development and its associated technologies.

Hi all, thank you so much for the comments. I like the green a lot, but again I have no design eye (only programming). The green matches perfectly with the green links and logo across the website! Would a darker green in that header clash with the bright green in the logo and links?

Towards the bottom of the page I have an icongraphical listing of popular products we use. Which looks better - have the products inside the container div and the same width as the container, or stretching across the screen in one row. Review both options attached. Your input is needed ,l,

I really think using a toned down green too would look much better, matching in with your links so to keep the overall design matched.

I also prefer the straight line of logos along the bottom of your page. Much better than the other look.

Your layout looks fine. Like what everyone says here try to tone down the green. Web safe colors are no longer being used today unlike years ago when video cards had limited color space quality.

Thank you all for your kind help I changed the green from a brign #00ff00, to a much darker #00CC33 which I think should help some people's eyes I also made the footer logos stretch across the entire screen and instead of the fixed container div width.

 

Any other suggestions?
