June 20, 200917 yr I like it. but... I am not sure about the font of the navigation - its heavy and too metal, and your website is very gentle. The other part I really don’t like is the way the content appears. something just not working for me there.
June 20, 200917 yr I love the graphic and the concept behind the design. However, I agree with Verawolf with regards to the navigation fonts. Also I don't know why, but I think the font on the logo looks a bit too "american" imo. Again, I like the site
June 20, 200917 yr Author I actually considered the navigation a while ago, and I felt though it may become a problem. Do you feel I need to make the navigation a bit more obvious? (I'm specifically refering to the navigation in the content areas, such as the close option and the back options while viewing portfolio segments.) Additionally do you have any suggestions to take the edge off of what you'd say may be the contrast between sharpness and softness? I feel as though potentially changing the font of the core navigational menu as well as dropping the solid bars on either side of each navigational element may help.
June 20, 200917 yr The navigation in the content areas is fine. I don’t think you should change it.Dropping the solid bars on either side of each navigational element may help- yes indeed. I would change the navigational bar font, or make it smaller, its too heavy.
June 20, 200917 yr Author . I don’t think you should change it.- yes indeed. I would change the navigational bar font, or make it smaller, its too heavy. I've made the change now, see if it fits better.
June 24, 200917 yr I like the design alot however I did notice a slight problem. I'm not on my own computer, so I didn't notice initially - I have to scroll down to see the navigation, then scroll back up again to see the content. Nothing major, but it is quite annoying.
June 24, 200917 yr Author The site should work fine on anything 1024x768 or larger, but I'll look into it.
June 24, 200917 yr Some lovely work, but it takes ages to load on mac safari 4. I almost stopped entering it.
June 24, 200917 yr Author Made a small change to the center identity piece, should be a bit better now, here's a comparison:
June 25, 200917 yr I rearly like your graphic design skills (simple but looks fantastic), a little more work on the user-interface is needed though... fonts need to be improved and the pages a little more consistent but apart from that its artistic i would say, very well designed!
June 25, 200917 yr the navigation buttons are really oversized, you could save on loading time by trimming them down and far as possible, also you nav buttons are jpg's, wouldnt making them PNG or GIF give them faster loading times.
June 26, 200917 yr I like what you did with the navigation just making it appear over the entrance screen. It has an impressive game like intro feel to it. I wouldn't be surprised or upset to even hear it load background music. I can't say I like all the sub-pages, but the theme is working nice.
June 26, 200917 yr I'd appreciate a bit of feedback: http://whitetreedesign.co.cc/ ok the design is very good. I like the concept and the "atmosphera". just few think: Try to have one page opened at the beginning. If is not too much you should add a script that checks the height of the screen and adapt the site to that: I'm browsing with a laptop at 1200x800px resolution and I have to scroll down to see the menu. this a crucial point regarding the usibility and compatibility of the site. one more small thing: I really don't like the spaces bet ween the letters in the page title. try to have that title more similar to the menu. I agree to what others says about the font around the logo: it's to amerian "far west"... PS: you may want to add your site here: http://allbestsites.net
June 26, 200917 yr i can only re-illiterate what has been said above about the main page being just an image - would be useful just to have a few paragraphs about you there instead of nothing. when you first look at it its like "OK, wheres the content" other than that. its good. I like it.
June 26, 200917 yr I like the design, but it seems upside down to me, You scroll to the bottom to click a link, then have to scroll back up to read, then back down for another link. PS: you may want to add your site here: http://allbestsites.net I'm not too sure about this site, lots of spelling mistakes and seems very amatuerish.
June 29, 200917 yr Your backdrop and logo design are beautifully laid out and encaptures the sense of branding and identity for your portfolio name White Tree Design (however a lot of scrolling on my screen), however there are a number of things that I would do differently (I am not saying this is the right way but things to consider), firstly I would experiment perhaps with placing a content area on top of your existing background (maybe on the left-hand-side), perhaps experimenting with the opacity levels, getting a sensible transparency level so the background can be still made out but your typography and font can be easily readable on top, I would have a footer again most probably on the left at the bottom using the white and brown colours from your logo and base it underneath the trees in the background image, where the 'dark soil' sits underneath. I would get rid of the existing expandable portfolio and still have this idea of going between a blog and portfolio but maybe have a much smoother tabbing system implemented which would be a smoother transition also between the two. Also I agree with the comments that it is slightly upside-down, I think you should have a logo at the top as well as the bottom and like I say with a content area this could be implemented along with navigation not to confuse the user... But nice start and good luck...
