I used to be able to run IE5 on my Mac but that is no longer a problem, I need the later updates and I can't seem to find an alternative to running separate windows machines at the moment, i need IE 6,7,8.

I don't think you can natively. What you'll need to do (I believe) is run WinXP in a virtual machine on the Mac, and then you can install IETester onto that Windows virtual machine. That will give you IE 6, 7 and 8, no matter which version came with the Windows install.

IE for Mac was dropped after version 5. macIE was never the same as IE on PC anyway - it had its own quicks and issues.

 

Best solution IMO is to do what Zig suggests, running windows in a virtual computer.
