I just watch the season finale of Season 5 and found it really good. It felt as if everything was falling into place...

 

I did give up on Lost when season 4 first came out, but recently started watching again and am glad I did. In a few weeks I watched the entire fourth season, and fifth one as it aired in the US of A.

 

What do you guys think of it?

Erm... season 5 hasn't finished yet so how did you see season 6? they haven't even started filming season 6 yet!?!

Yep I still watch it all the time. I am just watching on Sky One so I have 1 episode and the finale left to watch

 

Sky plus is a godsend

I download all my shows. There's nothing on British TV that's worth paying for a TV License. The Yanks get everything better, and they get it first.

 

The penultimate episode of season 5 wasn't that good, it didn't feel as if the season was about to end. But the finale, double episode, made up for that I reckon.

 

Can't really discuss it if you've not seen it though. Don't want to spoil it - I watched an interview of the actor that plays Benjamin Linus (Michael Emerson) a couple of weeks ago and that kind of gave away the ending of the last episode.

I still haven't watched the finale of this, but I'm planning on doing so this evening. I'm really excited actually, this season has been really good.

Well I just watched Episode 15 - just the double episode finale now, I have to wait until SUNDAY boo hiss!!

Anyone else get the feeling they just make up the story line as they go .... I had that feeling initially until recently. They've got some geniouses working on that show.

I watched the very first two episodes of season one when it first came out, and I found it so tediously boring I never watched it again - and I hate it when people talk about it.

I am so very excited about the season finale this week! I am also already annoyed because I know I'll be screaming at the TV like I usually do at the end... "NOOOOO DON'T END IT THERE!"

 

A group of us usually get together every week and have a Lost night, we'll have to find a new programme now!

We all ready had the finale here in the US it was really good I was happy with it!

One of the issues of such series is they write an excellent pilot without any consideration for the rest of the series and how it will proceed

You can take so many other such programs that just don't seem to go anywhere, explain anything, and / or just suddenly end!

 

A good example I can give is Star Trek Deep Space Nine

Clearly this is going to be a range of episodes all based around a space station, so not much is going to change

You can therefore watch pretty much any episode and pick up the story

Then take Star Trek Voyager and the characters should be heading home AFTER the pilot episode

However, in a later series they end up going back and forward a few times!

The writers also got confused and three episodes had to be aired in the wrong order so as to keep the correct time line (otherwise one of the characters would have died, come back to life, and then died again)

 

LOST itself kind of lost the plot

I still can't quite work out how Richard Alpert always looks the same age

Yeah, I don't think they planned out Lost all the way through. At first they denied all such theories relating to time travel, but that later became one of the key concepts of the show.

 

Season 3 raised a lot more questions than were answered, but 4 and 5 have done a pretty good job explaining things.

 

Richards age is still a mystery, but I guess it has something to do with Jacob.

I still don't get how Jack's dad is walking around the island either

Because they are probably all on different time-lines!

@ Loxley: I think they mean that through all the different time lines, he always looks the same age. But Ben Linus said (in S05E15) that Richard has been an advisor for 'a very, very long time' so it makes me wonder if Richard is indeed mortal?

 

I am really looking forward to the Finale and I hope that it answers a lot of questions about Jacob for me

Yeah but he might have swapped time lines a few times, much like Sawyer, Jack etc have.... as if you saw them in 1973 or whenever it is, and then again in 2007 you'd wonder why they hadn't aged at all.

 

I dunno, I need to stop thinking about it, Locke is back from the dead so anything is possible
