February 23, 200917 yr Hi Guys, Would like your feedback on the first draft of this website please. Thanks.
February 23, 200917 yr Author I'm not quite sure on the typography? I like the colours and the general layout but the typography is niggling at me.
February 23, 200917 yr The main gripes I have with it are: 1. The Form needs to look smaller - I think it is too in your face at the moment. I know it is offering a free sample, but I would just shrink the actual form down a bit and make more of the heading 2. The logo needs more space to breath - give it some more room on the bottom or put the strap line on one single line. Just my opinions Nice start to the site - good luck with it
February 23, 200917 yr nice design. the sales and online might look better lined up. great call to action! not sure if it will apeal to knucklehead body builders thought. they are very i wanna be huge man, if you know what I mean? maybe a before and after pic will be good in there as well.
February 23, 200917 yr Author Thanks Andy. Yeah I know what you mean. I might have to have a little rethink. Anyway, here's the edited version.
February 23, 200917 yr Author Do you guys think I should have a gradient on the background instead of just a plain white background? If so, what colour do you think? Thanks for the comments so far. It's going to the client tomorrow so I need to have the mock-up finished before this evening so I can code it.
February 23, 200917 yr Author Shall I just have the gradient on the header or go from the header to the footer? I can't think of the right colour for it any ideas?
February 23, 200917 yr Version 3 is loads better WDL I think the aqua blue is a bit off as a colour though - maybe try a duller blue... it has a bit too much green in it for me... try #bdc8e8 maybe Tel
February 23, 200917 yr Yeah that blue is much better - the one I suggested was definitely too dark. I would also suggest darkening up the body copy text a bit - just to make it stand out a bit from the new background colour
February 23, 200917 yr Much better mate - the design has come on leaps and bounds since the 1st post Looking forward to seeing it coded up
February 23, 200917 yr Author Thanks a lot. I really appreciate all the comments. I'll get stuck in coding when the client approves the design and then I'll post an update. In the meantime if anyone has anything extra to add it would be much appreciated.
February 23, 200917 yr look great! i might change the top links to a blue more consistent with the site. just my two cents.
February 23, 200917 yr Actually the only other point I will throw in is this: Try having the head of your body builder breaking out of the frame and going into the white space with a very light drop shadow. It looks a bit odd with his head cut off like that. And I know it has been mentioned in the thread, but maybe throw a before and after shot in the body copy somewhere. Oh and yeah; as goldfinger said, change the top link colours to match up
February 23, 200917 yr Author Thanks guys. That is a good idea, the breaking out the box bit. I did intend to do something along those lines but I really liked that picture and unfortunately his head is cut off. Anyway, I'll try and buy a better picture that will enable me to do just that. Changed the links.
February 24, 200917 yr Author A couple of different variations. What do you guys think? Thanks. Also, the client wanted to know if their was any other way to entice people to give their email address. Other than the free sample or a newsletter a couldn't think of much. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.
February 24, 200917 yr is it only the model thats different? i perfer the 1st one, the guy looks healtier
February 25, 200917 yr Awrite mate. Well done with the layout, it looks professional and the wee steriod man is amusing and works. I do a bit of gyming myself and one of the hardest things to achieve is getting ripped abdominals like the model in the first picture. It does look healthier and i would say personally that more males would strive for that physique than in the second picture. The second looks a little strange and freikish. Am not too sure if selling steroids over the internet without pescriptions is legal, is your client aware of this. Steroids are pretty dangerous if not used properly and can have some serious physical and mental side effects. First pic definetly looks more professional in my opininion though and the site looks smart.
February 25, 200917 yr Author Hi Delboy, Thanks for the comments, and everyone else's as well. With regard to the legal issues I'll leave that to the client and they have assured me they know what they can and can't do so I'm happy with that. Thanks again folks.
February 25, 200917 yr Author Hey Folks, I'm just in the process of coding the website now and would like your opinion on what body background colour would suit the website best and also whether or not I should have some sort of border separating the website from the body background. Thanks guys. Steroid Sales Online
