My first web design website

Featured Replies

Hey,

I've just finaly finished my web design website, hope you like it.

Feed back on it is very appreciated, im debating weather or not to use rounded corners on the content boxes.

Also, I've gone for a professional/sleek/simple look.

http://www.contentcore.com

Not bad for a first site! however, I would lighten up the header text and the nav, as for the blue, tone it down a bit its to bright now.

Thnx, about the blue, I thought that if it was to dark it would'nt contrast against the grey background very good and then create issues with people not being able to read it.

I will be honest and tell you that I really don't like this website. I'll start with the header. First of all, as the header of the website, it should be what the website viewer sees first. Sadly, the first thing I see is the repulsive blue text of your website. I would add some more effects to the text that says "Content Core" as it is the logo that identifies you website! The navbar of the website is ok...before I put my mouse over it. Blue can be a good color, but the contrast created by the clash of the brown and the light blue is blinding and unnattracitive. The same goes for the body section of your webpage and the black headers that shouldn't be black. Unless you absolutely want this website, I would start over. Also, try reading "Principles of Beautiful Web Design". It's a book that has been reviewed by this forum in the "books" section.

I apologize if I've offended you in anyway. I'm just being honest.

try ...

h2 {
color:#ffffff;
font-family:sans-serif;
font-size:13px;
margin-bottom:0;
margin-top:0;
}

Hmm, not bad, I didnt think white would go well, but I juess its ok, I think im gonna have a go and change the color scheme and the logo a bit.

Make your logo and the general style rememberable and unique in a positive way. As a web designer, you want there to be something special about your website that differs from everybody else. It's not bad for a first website, but there is lots of room for improvement.

PS: I re-read my first post. Sorry for how negative and harsh I was being. .That was not my intention.

Ye, no problem, thnx

Hi! Congratulations for your new website.. Don’t be upset about the comments.. It’s understandable that you came up with such design because as you’ve said this is your first. I viewed your site and read about your services as well…

If you wish to offer website design, then you should come up with a very well presented company website to attract and convince the customer to trust your services. Your website as a whole is totally not inviting. It’s gloomy, it doesn’t have effects, and it’s even not simple. Your color combination is sooo dead. You should have at least played with some lively colors. If you’re really into black or gray background then you should have used text color that is contrasting but not way overboard. The cyan text is way too flashy.. Your header is too dull. It’s your site that you’re promoting so you should have added some effects of play more with it. You’re navigation tool is ok though. Highlight your headers and it would be much of an improvement if you put some logos or images. Try to observe some good websites so you can understand what I am saying..

Good luck!
