Just before Christmas i finished my first online portfolio and have updated it a little since. So i was hoping you nice folk would give some real hard reviews?

Well,the bad first

1.You used jpg images and the quality is low and blured.You used those for everything I see:The logo,the green grass(top right), gallery etc. If you got the .psd/.png/.tiff(whatever it is) use it and stop using low quality like jpg

Otherwise the graphics are really nice: especially liked the logos/web pages

2.Don't like the footer.Actually the problem is where it's positioned.It's kinda wierd the way it is now.

Make it stick to the bottom(if dont know how just make a quick google search on "sticky footer")

or fill the space underneath it with black.

3.In the flash and logo design categories on the gallery page the text isn't positioned the way it should.It is alone near the left part.Again looks wierd.

 

I like everything else not mentioned above.

Solve those problems and it will look perfect.

I see what you mean about the images. I will get that sorted asap. But i don't know what you mean about the footer. For me it stay's at the bottom. What resolution are you using? Could you give me a screen capture so i can see what you mean?

I'm using 1280X1024,tried both FFox and IE and the same happens

 

Not sure how you made it but anyway,a good website must work in all resolutions/browsers pretty much the same

Obviously you're using 1024X768

 

 

EDIT:checked your website in 1024X768 and yes that way it looks ok.

Also you probably didn't understand what I meant at 3. In 1280 X 1024 the text in the left part doesn't look the same.

In "web designs" it looks the same but it doesn't in "logo designs" and "flash"

It looks great and I would be delighted with it.

 

I am normally not a lover of flash, because of the distraction it causes to the eye.

 

However, the intervals which you have set those at are not troublesome to me.

Yes I agree. Very nice job Neil! By the way PVC Blue – Very cool averter. I think the overall effect of the website is quite modern and very professional. I think the use of Green, dark and light gray go very well together and always gives a nice look.

I don't see any problems with the footer, I'm on 1600x900 widescreen.

 

Really like the site, very clean and fresh, well done.

There's some nice work in your gallery, neil, and the site looks pretty clean. but i reckon with the skills you show in your artwork you could make it even better.

 

re. images, use png format for the smaller ones, but you might want to stick with jpegs in your gallery as at the size you're displaying them the file size of a png will be pretty big and take ages to load.

Really pleased with the reviews so far, many thanks to you all. PVCblue........not sure what you mean about the angel montage? Do you mean you wanna copy? Would be pleased to give you a copy if you wanted?

 

Also, with regards to the footer issue, I'm gonna set the layout to an elastic layout. That way it should stretch to all resolutions.
