  9. Hi, I need a little advice on laying out my little site for a college project and any advice would be appriciated!! As you can see from the image below on the right hand side the hard drive image is at the bottom when I really want it top right but for some reason its not going there!! I adjusted both columns widths hoping it would move up but it made no difference and I'm stumped!! Here is my code.. Today, it takes the form of integrated circuits that allow stored data to be accessed in any order (i.e., at random). The word random thus refers to the fact that any piece of data can be returned in a constant time, regardless of its physical location and whether or not it is related to the previous piece of data.</p> <p class="style2">By contrast, storage devices such as magnetic discs and optical discs rely on the physical movement of the recording medium or a reading head. In these devices, the movement takes longer than data transfer, and the retrieval time varies based on the physical location of the next item.</p> <p class="style2">The word RAM is often associated with volatile types of memory (such as DRAM memory modules), where the information is lost after the power is switched off. Many other types of memory are RAM, too, including most types of ROM and a type of flash memory called NOR-Flash.</P> <h3 class="style1">Please Select Your Size</h3> <div id="selectionpics"> <a href="#"><img src="images/ram512.gif" border="0" onclick="MM_popupMsg('Selection Added To Basket, Please Choose The Next Component On The Right')"/></a> <a href="#"><img src="images/ram1gb.gif" border="0" onclick="MM_popupMsg('Selection Added To Basket, Please Choose The Next Component On The Right')"/></a> <a href="#"><img src="images/ram2gb.gif" border="0" onclick="MM_popupMsg('Selection Added To Basket, Please Choose The Next Component On The Right')"/></a> <a href="#"><img src="images/ram4gb.gif" border="0" onclick="MM_popupMsg('Selection Added To Basket, Please Choose The Next Component On The Right')"/></a> </div> </div> <div id="mainCright"> <div id="rightpics"> <img src="images/hdside.gif" /> </div> </div> </div> <div id="footer"> <div id="mininav"> <p align="center"><a href="index.html">RAM</a> | <a href="hd.html">Hard Drive</a> | <a href="monitor.html">Monitor</a> | <a href="op.html">Operating System</a> | <a href="prossesor.html">Processor</a> | <a href="keyboard.html">Keyboard</a> | <a href="mouse.html">Mouse</a></p> </div> <div id="copyright"> <p align="center" class="style1">© Copyright Quarantine 2009 </p> </div> </div> </div> </body> </html> CSS @charset "utf-8"; /* CSS Document */ body { font-family:"Verdana", Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color:#000000; font-size:12px; margin:0; padding:0; height: 100%; background-image:url(../images/background.gif); } a:link { color:#ffffff; text-decoration: none; } a:hover{ color:#0099ff; text-decoration: none; } a:visited{ color:#ffffff; text-decoration: none; } a:active{ color:#0099ff; text-decoration: none; } a:hover { color:#0099ff; text-decoration: none; } a { color: #FFFFFF; } p { line-height: 14px; } h3 { font-size: 14px; } h4 { font-size: 12px; } h5 { font-size: 10px; } .style1 { color: #0066cc; } .style2 { text-align: justify; } #wrapper { margin: 0 auto; width: 800px; } #top { margin-top: 50px; } #main { background-image:url(../images/insidebackground.png); width: 800px; height: 520px; float: left; } #mainCleft { width: 550px; margin-left: 25px; margin-right: 25px; margin-top: 25px; } #leftpic { float: left; margin-right: 10px; } #selectionpics { margin-left: 20px; } #mainCright { width: 200px; float: right; } #rightpics { float: right; } #footer { clear:both; }

    Hi I'm looking for a bit of help. I used to use the Show Pop Up Menu behaviour in DW8 but now I have CS4 the option is not availible. I googled it and this told me to use the Spry Menu but the program is telling me I cannot use this within lists. Basiclly I have a horizontal Nav Bar with 7 links and I just need a little drop down menu on a few of the links showing a further few options. Is there a function in CS4 to do this or could somebody show me a tutorial with the HTML and CSS needed for this?? Thanks in advance.
  11. I don't see any problems with the footer, I'm on 1600x900 widescreen. Really like the site, very clean and fresh, well done.
  12. I've changed the nav bar to something more fitting the design, opnions would be appriciated!!
  13. Right, I see them!! I'm using a widescreen monitor so I have to scroll down to see that, maybe you should change that??
  14. Firefox 3 and my conections 10mb.
  15. I've tryed twice and all I get is a black screen.
  16. Thanks for the feed back!! There is a lot of content and more pages to be added, just wondered about the basic design!. I agree about the nav bar, it was one I made before to practice then just put it in, may design another. As for it looking unproffesinal, it is!! I've only been doing this since a few days before Xmas and not counting my college project this is the first one I've done, suppose it'll take me another few weeks to get to you guys standards. Thanks again for the feedback, always appriciated, good or bad.
  17. Some of you may remember helping me on my first site that was for my college project!! Well I passed so big thanks for all the advice I got then!! Now I was hoping you could have a look at my first personal project, a website done for a DJ friend of mine!! It's not finished yet and I havn't validated it but most of the HTML and CSS is done, just some content to add, thanks!! http://alteredego.110mb.com
  18. Yeh what Frenchbird said!!
  19. Take this line out padding:3px 310px 3px 310px; And replace it with margin: 0 auto; And reduce each column from 300px to 280px That should sort it hopefully!!
  20. Really like it, just the kind of site I'd like to build when I'm more experianced!! One thing though, I'm blind in one eye and I've always found that brand of Capcha really difficult to read, usually just avoid sites that use it!! There are easier one out there!!
  21. I just put 6 in too see if it changed!! I managed to get it, thanks for the help, so simple but I wouldn't have thought of that!! Here's the code that worked for me!! h3 { font-size: 14px; }
  22. I tryed that by adding the following to my CSS but it doesnt appear to make and difference to the headers!! header h4 { font-size: 6px; }
  23. Hi, I've been building a site and I'm having a little problem!! The text I'm using looks as I want in Firefox but in Internet Explorer it gets quite a bit bigger, espicially when using <h> tags!! Whilst this is a small problem it's getting quite frustrating, is there a way to stop it??
  24. Technicly it's really quite cool but it just wouldn't be usuable buy the general public!! Very impressed though!!
  25. That's much better, pages took half the time to load, well done, looking good!!
