January 23, 200917 yr Could you please review this private initiative (retail community) http://www.shopic.com and give me your advice/concern on the design. I have also posted an add here to find someone who could do a design mark-up (only the graphics not the code) to improve the pictures but it would be nice to know how I score as a design novice. Thank you!
January 23, 200917 yr Pretty straight forward design. I would like to see it after you add the graphics. Personally the colors (for you Nav) is a bit strange, it just doesnt have that smooth feel. However, I do think your getting your message across well enough. Again, I would love to see it afterwards. -Kankidan
January 23, 200917 yr Hi You have done fine and it will come good once the graphics are right. Always try and steer clear of grouping lots of colour, because it has the adverse affect. It is written well and very well balanced. If you get stuck on the graphics PM me? Good luck
February 5, 200917 yr Author Sorry for the late replay. Thanks for the forum notes and PM’s. As the website is my private initiative to create a retail community I can not afford the rates charged by web agencies. I know I can’t get help for free so I will pay what I can. But I surely cant afford a wrong investment (paying for something I don’t like and will not use). Therefore the deal must be. I pay for the result, who must be to my satisfaction. In other words someone must stick to me until we get the design straight so it can be uploaded (I wont pay the time invested). If interested please send me your mobile number and I will call you. Thanks in advance.

Thanks in advance. My first thoughts are re-design, re-design or come up with a original design, that was a good design - I have seen it over and over agian for other sites, if you did pay for it I would ask for a refund as it is not original, nor made for you.

Thanks in advance. What you have to remember is most of the people on here do this for a living and cant afford to spend time submitting redesigns over and over without their time being accounted for, I am not saying you wont find someone but I think you may find it hard under those terms.
February 5, 200917 yr Hi Perhaps a partnership may solve the issue? Whatever, if your words don’t out-shoot your competitors you will get shot down. It’s a hard fact, which has closed the door on thousands of website’s - regardless of their design. If the two match then it is utopia in colour/color. Good luck.
February 8, 200917 yr Author If interested in optimising all the jpgs/gif please send me your mobile # so we can discuss the deal (I dont mind where you live, jibuti or on a drilling platform I dont care). If the graphics are so bad as stated, why nobody wants the challange and do it better? I dont want the ones who want to be paid by hour, I want the ones who are sure they can do it and agree on the deal I stated in previous messsage. I pay for the result I am pleased with. Regardless if you done it in a hour or a week. I'm curious..

Regardless if you done it in a hour or a week. I'm curious.. Hmmm, you sound like a client I had once. We agreed on a concept, I went and built the site using images, logo and copy provided by the client. At the sign off stage, the client changed all the copy, so I took that one on the chin and altered the site. AGAIN at the sign off stage, the client decided he didnt like the design afterall, and wanted a re-design, all within the scope of the original quote. When I refused to do this under those conditions (afterall he had physically signed the piece of paper saying he was happy with the design), he threatened not to pay. I then told him he could have the site I designed at the original quote and we could both walk away from the deal, despite him being in breach of contract, he balked and started talking about his rights as a customer. I patently explained to him that his wasnt the only site I was doing and I couldnt just keep coming up with designs left, right and center to suit his mood that day for no extra money, he agreed to take what I had done (just the site, no install, set up or anything) for the original quote and go for another designer. To this day (and this was two years ago) his site still isnt on-line. Sure I lost a customer in the long run and some may say I should of bitten the bullet and done the re-design to keep the client, but I didnt need the hassle. The work/stress ratio wasn't working for me. A designers time is money, as is a mechanics, plumbers, doctors, carpenter. any professional providing a service should be paid and respected for the service they provide.
February 10, 200917 yr I really think it is a great design you have there. It is very sharp and straight forward, and the site shows that you are serious and professionel. I wish you the best luck finding shops and make people use the site - becaouse thats the next step I guess. But dont change the design, it is total professional and matches your profile I think Cheers, Oliver

February 12, 200917 yr This guy's a joka ! He must be.. seriously. The concept behind the site is a good idea, however thes site looks unprofessional and basic. alot of users work on asthetics and when they see a site like this they will quickly press the back button. Furthermore, i havnt seen it in any of the previous posts, but you seem to be looking for someone to do your work, and this is not the place for it, maybe a different section of the forum? What is with the bar on the right, unless im viewing it strangly, there is a bit filled in at the top and at the bottom then a big open space, are you intending to use that later on. Anyways, good luck on your project. It cant get much worse than it is now
February 12, 200917 yr Hi Sorry sorry. Im not here to provoke anybody. Im new here, not from from uk and not so fast and precise at the English language as you guys. I just meant that its a good start, this site - she wants to make a serious site, I can see. But off course it is not finished, and there is still a lot to do. But sorry sorry Oliver
February 13, 200917 yr Hi Oliver It’s easy to say a sentence the wrong way in another language. I think the guy who made the original post is a waste of space was on the hunt for a bag of freebies in the wrong space. I hope you enjoy the forum.
