Web Design Podcast?

Featured Replies

Can anyone recommend a good web designer pod cast? Or web related with updates of all latest trrends technologies etc in?

Ive listend to boagworld in the past and its more them yapping about other stuff than web related, and the.net magazine ones now just a video cast with really simple stuff on it.

(also have you guys at web designer forum ever thought about doing one ;) i guarantee it would be better than the majority out there at the moment)

There seems to be a bit of a niche in the market for decent podcasts that are design related sorry, I have yet to find one. It would be nice to have a decent podcast though, I like your idea of setting one up!

open niche = possible gold mine/waste of time

what would you like in a podcast? tutorials? news? reviews?

Yeh think thats the problem.. to do a succesfull one theyve gotta be free (but if you can get good sponsors your sorted) otherwise your wasting your own personal time once a month

Id personally like to see an open one for web designers, experienced and not so experienced.. no tutorials just

- Latest Web trends

- Latest technologies

- Latest software

- features on like SEO, marketing, design process

- interviews with designers of top sites and their process

a general guide keeping you up to date with the current web design genre without having to hunt for it and find out to late. Is it toooo much to ask lol

In my opinion Boagworld do talk about all the things you're looking for in a Podcast, you just need to listen to a few of their podcasts as each have their own theme and focus. I have listened to some where they have had guest speakers from design companies such as Carsonified and programmers from Digg.

There have also been shows where they've talked about issues such as current/upcoming trends and usability etc etc. All in all I really do like boagworld's podcast quite a lot due to their informal yet informative nature. Give them another try and listen to a few more shows, you may just become hooked. :)

All of the podcast I've listed to seem to be aimed at the experienced people, and there's nothing for newbies and learners so there's probably and avenue of opportunity there.

Running a regular podcast does take a lot of planning and commitment but far from impossible.
