December 15, 200817 yr The tool bar (with the get, put etc. controls) under the files section on the right hand pane is missing from the site I'm working on. I created another site & this time the tool bar was displayed. Just wondering why it is not being displayed for the other site I'm working on. Anyone know why this might be happening? Could it be something to do with the way the site has been set-up in Dreamweaver? I currently doing a web design course covering Flash & Dreamweaver. I asked my tutor about this & he said he had never seen this happen before. Doesn't seem right. I'm also having lots of problems with the site I'm working on. Doesn't help I don't have much experiene but the people around me that have more experince working with web sites & Dreamweaver seem a bit perplexed as well! I wont go into detail about the problems I'm having. But I suspect it's got something to do with the way the site has been set-up/manged in Dreamweaver prior to me taking over.
December 15, 200817 yr Author This is what I see in Dreamweaver - tool bar is missing & if I click manage site I get the Configure Server window & not the set-up page with the basic/advanced tabs;
December 15, 200817 yr I can'y answer your question but relying on proprietry software to build a site will leave you stuck when the software throws a wobbly. What is it exactly that you're trying to do? the chances are there's a more conventional way of doing it without having to rely on the software you're using.
December 15, 200817 yr Click on the wee a thingy at the side of the page ~ see picture. This should make the panes open/close
December 15, 200817 yr Author It's this part that has gone AWOL (just the tool bar on the files area);
July 31, 200917 yr Author I did eventually figure this out. The problem was that the website had not actually been site managed! Once I did that all the 'missing' tools appeared.
