EVO Design Site Launch

Hmm... Pretty cool and creative.. But the text is hard to read when you scroll up a bit so the text is over the paint splatter..

Whats so bad with attached backgrounds ;)

Hi,

I love the site, very creative. You have excellent skills.

Are you freelance or do you work for a company?

Your portfolio is excellent. Extremely high standard.

Very professional.

Thank you for your comments...

Skysurge - your point is well made. It was certainly a design consideration but I felt in the end that even on a very small screen resolution the text in question is over a clear section of background.

Given this and the fact the remainder of the site is built to accommodate the hectic background I traded it for aesthetic. I may switch to scrolling the homepage background if there are enough complaints. Thanks.

Website Design Liverpool - Many thanks for your great comments. I am freelance, evo is my own business. I have been freelance for just over 12 months and loving it.

Bluedreamer - ExpressionEngine rules!! :D

hi evo

nice site, but i had problem reading the text too. i understand what your saying about the text being over a clear bg but thats not how i read sites, i tend to read the top 1/3 of the page and then scroll so the top is now the 2nd 1/3 of the screen ya get me? it would be interesting to find out if everyone does that or just me being too lazy to move my eyes down.

fantastic site though, and you seem to achieved so much in the space of a year, you should share your secrets

Wonderful design! I think you could add Testimonials page because your portfolio if full of great designs. I bet your clients will be pleased to thank you for your good job. in fact you have a blank space in your menu.

Nice! :good:

Has a very creative web design agency feel to it. Fantastic use of colour and graphics, on all your sites for that matter. Clean, semantic code and refreshing bespoke designs. Thumbs up from me! The only thing I'd say, although it's minor, is that you have an excessive amount of meta keywords, try halving it and maybe include a meta description tag. But as I say, minor points, overall I'm very impressed!

Nice design, love the color. The footer is a little boring compared to the rest I think. Also, get rid of that scrolling background, it annoyed me :p

I am taking on board the views about the text scrolling over the backdrop on homepage. It certainly is a valid complaint. I am not jumping to change it right now as I am reluctant to make knee jerk reactions within minutes of a launch but it certainly seems to be getting people's backs up.

I can never quote make my mind up on testimonials. On the one hand they seem to demonstrate some happy customers but then there's always the notion that they just got made up on the spot. In some sense it's nice to let the work do the talking and if people like it great, if not then that's life.

What do others think about the idea of testimonials?

Thanks for the kind words. You spot on I completely forgot my meta description which is infinitely more important than the tags. With regards tag density I had pretty much resigned my thinking to the fact they no longer carry any real wait for SEO and therefore it's academic.

I stand to be corrected on the correct use and density, and value of them?

Nick

You seem to be of the growing number of respondents who are irritated by the fixed backdrop. It may well be one of those CSS tricks I am having a temporary love affair with and in so doing compromising usability unnecessarily. I will take it under advisement.

I wanted the footer to be functional and clean for now; but do intend tarting it up a little soon. Any ideas or inspiration would be most welcome.

Thanks everyone...

Site looks cool man, I love the colours.

Did you use any tutorials or anything with EE? I've just installed a local version using wamp server and I've no idea what's what yet. I'm gonna have a play later hopefully. It looks VERY 'bloggy' - I hope I can get past this and start designing a proper site as I've been told EE is good for this. Any advice?... :)

Hi

Your site looks cool and great. Colors are fine. Like what others said, the text was hard to read. Nice job.

MacDesign :D

Mate i think the site looks great!

But as its already been mentioned above, i am not

too sure about the background.

Maybe it would be look better if the background was not fixed....

Hi Evo

The face of that website just needs some minor surgery.

Always imagine that you are its visitor and let that be your sole guide.

That will soon begin to tell you what is - and what is not acceptable.

Good luck and well done.
