November 9, 200817 yr Hi I have a CMS for my website and i have a few problems with it 1) I can log into the CMS but when i go to edit content in IE it give me an error message and say operation aborted. I try it in firefox and i can edit content, but it hangs when i try to save it and it doesnt do anything. I can edit other database entries, but its just when i try and save new content. My web developer says hes having no problems so it must be on my end or the server. What could possibly be causing these problems? I really need to get this sorted today, any help will be much appreciated. AIM - Beatplexity MSN - paul_junglist_86@hotmail.co.uk Peace
November 9, 200817 yr Ok, lets answer a few basics... What CMS are you using? Is your internet connection behaving, are there any current ISP problems? Have you cleared out your temporary internet files/cache? have you cleaned up your system recently, defragged etc? (not necessarily relevant but worth doing) Is your web host having any issues?

November 9, 200817 yr Ok so you know it's not your end! Its a custom made CMS designed by the company who made my site This could be the problem because we don't know how good or bad the CMS is. They say they don't have any problems their end but you could take a pinch of salt with that fact! I can log into the CMS but when i go to edit content in IE it give me an error message and say operation aborted.I try it in firefox and i can edit content, but it hangs when i try to save it and it doesnt do anything. I can edit other database entries, but its just when i try and save new content. IE gives an error message - what does it say? Firefox hangs - it's possible there is some duff javascript somewhere, or the CMS script itself is throwing a wobbly in the writing to database bit. This would be reinforced by the fact that you can edit current content. How about asking the developers to add a peice of test content to see if they get errors? Update - IE error "operation aborted" seems to point to Javascript issue - see http://www.shauninman.com/archive/2007/04/...eration_aborted

Heres the error message in IE Is there anyway i can fix this issue myself. ber in mind i have no experience or knowledge with any of this
November 9, 200817 yr If it is a javascript related issue there's essentially a fault in the CMS for which you'd need to edit the source code - this should really be for the people who designed the CMS to fix.
