Very nice site.

I really like the website and it validates to Strict 1.0 which is excellent.

There is an awful lot of information on the first page, it is structured so I think you pull it off, but personally I would have no reason to scroll to the bottom. Maybe taking a few less important parts out will help? Like SEO, Logos or Website?

 

Also assuming you are in the UK Liverpool we spell optimisation with an s not a z I don't think many people will but seo from someone who has detracted from their own rating and seo by spelling what they are selling wrong

Having all the info on the front page is something i wanted to go for. A grid design with different sections which can be moved around easily and re ordered as we change projects and other features. Apprechiate your thoughts on that as i have heard a few people say it but thats what i wanted to go for with the whole feel of the homepage. I took inspiration from a hand full of sites, some being web design based and some news based. That may be where i got it from. Give people something to scroll down for and they will. ie. attractive content and features.

 

Not sure whether you know but the spelling of optimization/optimisation doesnt effect search engine rankings, results are almost identical, so from that side of things im not too concerned. And yes i realise some people may see it as being spelt wrong its just something i over looked when writing content. Too used to spelling it with the 'z' Might change it when i get a minute...

Really? I did not know that and it seems maybe google doesn't either... If you do a UK search (which the majority of your clients will be) on website optimisation and optimization only one company appears in both top 10's (1st and 10th).

 

I think anyone who is English would deem it as a mis-spelling, which I think is a few more than some people... and probably the majority of your target audience...

 

You wouldn't expect to see organization from a UK company so why optimization?

 

Sorry to get the hump but when people produce copy and information for the world to see yet don't check their spellings it is rather annoying!! (even worse when they won't change it).

 

Just to re-iterate, not having a go, just find it strange why people pretend to be American...

Its hardly pretending to be American, i think you are making a mountain out of a mole hill here. I didnt say i wouldnt change it, i said its something i did whilst writing the copy for the site and didnt even realise at the time. I have worked on hundreds of US based sites so that maybe why i did it. I will probably change it in time but at the moment isnt something im stessed about, so dont you get stressed or 'humped' over it.

As much as I hate and despise the "ization" of 'proper' English ( ) - it's a question of web localisation not correct/ incorrect because, unfortunately, both spellings are acceptable in 'proper' English (can never bring myself to write British English unless forced to!).

 

As for the site? I love it and you'll never hear me complain about too much copy!

 

Only thing missing (which will fill the little gap bottom right of the homepage nicely!) if you really want to be a 'full-service' provider is to offer copywriting services - I'm just a PM away!

 

Great site, particularly well structured. I'd just be nit-picking if I mentioned some padding seems a little cramped and some of the right-hand column text is a little small to be read easily.

Nice looking site, although agree it maybe has a bit too much content.

Really professional site, great design. My first impression was that the landing page was a little to crazy. I wondered if it was a company site or some sort of magazine. Viewing the other pages on the site was a much more relaxing experience.

 

I love the way you have laid out the packages on offer and the gallery is really slick.

 

Is all the distraction on the home page a bit of a gamble? Would a middle aged businessman with a lot of money to spend think it was all a bit confusing and funky?

We tend to do our copywriting ourselves when working on SEO projects, but thanks for the heads up will take a look at your site and keep you in mind

Yes thats a good way to look at it... we probably never thought about it that way.

 

Only just going live with the new design so the idea is to get as much feedback from clients and other professionals and work on improving where possible, so thanks for that insight.

 

As for the homepage the grid layout with the boxes is mainly so we can shift things around, change and play with the ordering and style with ease as we like. Want to work on it over time with the feedback we get to get the best out of the design.
