What is the correct way now to code images as links?? I did a search for this and couldn't find a answer

I basically already know how to do this, I mean I have done it and have a video on my front page of my site, but the video player acts funny in IE, it jerks when you scroll the page and leaves a visible trail - also it auto starts in FF even tho I have the auto start set to false. It is a wmv file that I have uploaded to my site, not any of the youtube stuff. What script or way of embeding it would you recommend?? I have searched but most of the codes look like the one I already have.

Yup when I replaced my css with the edited one by you, it threw the "around" over to the left and brought the footer up under the nav! I don't think the around is whats wrong - it has to be something to do with eth "maincontent" box, it just won't behave dynamically and stretch to cover the entire contents on FF

The margin:0 auto is what keeps the "around" centered on the page, if I remove that won't the around go to the left again?

I understand what you are saying Sun, and I do appreciate the advice, and I also apologize for being short tempered this morning, I work nights, I was tired and I have screwing with this problem for over a month now and for some reason I just cannot grasp what to fix! It is literally making me crazy! I honestly hated bothering you guys for help, I tried to do it on my own but it just wasn't working for me. BTW forget about the template.htm, that was "re-coded" by some one trying to help me, but it wasn't the fix I was looking for, he coded the inner boxes that are wrapped to have length sizes instead of being able to lengthen themselves like the main box ( I hope I am explaining this right). Also it was hardcoded into the htm and not in the css. If you are able to help please use the index.htm I uploaded or view the source on the actual index of my site www.pvcblue.com - I really do appreciate it!!

I like the "old" one the best, nice layout and colors! Did you do the layout in xhtml/css?

OK I have been working on this some, and now have the head, nav, and footer outside of the wrapper. But the inside of the wrapper - the inner containers - are still having problems in FF. Any ideas?? htm and css attached index.htm indexs.css

Now all I have to do is find a way to get the inner containers to look and behave in FF the same way as in IE

Thanks Scott - yes I do get that - I have seen the shoert hand in other css style sheets and kinda got what it was doing then as well.

WOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOO!! YES!! That worked!! I addded it to the css and then deleted the center tags from the index page and it look even better now!! THANK YOU!!!

Could anyone tell me how to center the main container area tho???

LOL!! Don't be sorry - it is a css from a "professional" template site. I will just have to figure it out I guess - thanks for trying.

LOL!! from you lips to God's ears! Hopefully you can "see" what I cannot! the main container - which is called "around" is fine - it i sthe inner areas that are the problem. Well let me take that back, I know I have center tags around the main container and that is not good, but I can't get it to center on the page any other way as I have found yet. index.htm indexs.css

Actually Iris yes and no, I see alot of that in php coding for the forum I use, not that I really understand it, but I do get what you are saying so yes that does help. But what is frustarting me is this - the website look fine in IE - no probs - FF it looks good until I ad the second div id and then all hell breaks loose - just look at the index in bothe browsers - www.pvcblue.com - IE great FF not so great, so somewhere in all that coding and stuff there is a glitch? Also it hard for me to "see" what I am doing when it comes to this new coding - I am used to seeing what I do right away with html pages in dreamweaver - but whe you code for this, what you see in dreamweaver's display and what is actually in the browser are 2 diff things, the browser display looks fine the breamweaver looks like chopsuey! LOL!

I am not biting peoples heads off for telling me what I do not want to hear, they are just not telling me anything that can help at this point. Ex. "can you post your index.htm or css and maybe I can tell you where you are going wrong"

Ok, I have just woke up (I work nights) and I sit here waiting, I have started to re-code - I have started with the header and footer, working from a index template and css from my forum to see if I can get bothe the header and footer to respond the same in both browsers, and I have accomplished that, now I just need to get the mainarea to respond the same with both browsers and that is where I am stuck as the index fro my forum of course is php, and I can only disseminate so much from it.

and this helps me with my problem how? it doesn't, and is just rude to keep shoving the same "opinion" made over an dover by others and ignore the the problem, helping with the coding. Obviously if I knew what I was doing to make it cros complaiant I wouldn't be here asking for help, and yet all anyone can say is code for FF or whatever browser, and no one tells me or helps to do just that!

But again none of that is helping me to solve the problem, which is it is NOT rendering in FF correctly AND making the templates I need. I am NOT having a problem with IE, so for everyone to start saying IE is ****e and it is IE that is the problem only makes for confusion and frustration and doesn't help solve the problem.

Ok what didn't you get? I DO NOT LIKE FF - never have and never will so please don't go trying to "make: me use it, as for rendering, no FF is not better, my website(s) and forum look great in IE and Eh in FF, but it doesn't render the fonts correctly and in ff even tho something may be coded to center it inevitably goes left, also as for your instalation, if you didn't have IE in the first place FF wouldn't even work. It is a hack job. and this is ALL off the topic of helping to make a better website.

The problems are NOT with IE, IE is wondeful!! It is that assinine FF!! It doesn't render anything correctly! The pages look just how they are supposed to in IE - in FF it's crap! I can't stand FF, it is a stupid browser. I don't even like to use it - it is not user friendly, you have to install anything that comes naturally with IE and it does not render anything how it should actually look.
