  1. since the first company i wrote for does not demand a certain number of articles per month, i did a sort of test by sending first one article for one particular month. when i received a check (since i cannot use paypal), that's when i made several articles to post on their blog. hopefully, the next check will successfully find its way to me.
  2. i definitely agree with both of you. it's certainly firefox for me. plus it gives you that whipped cream on top: stumbleupon!
  3. i haven't made a website myself but right now i have 2 blogs. the first one i post almost everything that comes to mind--my personal thoughts and feelings and some ideas that pop in my mind. the 2nd one is just for food since i love eating and going out to try new food. i post reviews about restos i've gone to or even about a breakfast that i made for myself.
  4. it works for me to sketch on a piece of paper first.(not being able to draw first lines, i thank some of you for bringing up the graphing paper) lol. i do bookmark great websites and blogs i chance upon to combine great designs, layouts and ideas.
  5. i don't have my own website and i plan to focus right now on my blogs. but right now, since i'm still in the process of learning stuff in adobe photoshop and in html, i download free templates for my blogs. but once i make my own,i plan to have just a white background and black headings which are kind of like sketches or doodles like karen cheng's blog: http://www.karencheng.com.au/ then i could put some blue and orange doodles or drawings on the side. while the black and white scheme is simple, i think it would kind of highlight the colored pictures i usually post on my blogs.
  6. that's great ben. i like what you have done to that site. hmmm..thoma.. i know this photography forum which you may want to post in -- http://www.thephotostation.net the best of luck to your contest.
  7. could i do that using html? say, for instance i want the center part of my page not to follow my scroll (since that's where my posts are located) but the sides will be following the scroll since that's where my profile, pictures and links are. thanks.
  8. hey, thanks for that info. i didn't know before that there are downloadable brushes for photoshop! gotta check that out..hmmm....
  9. wow, thanks for those suggestions. i have copied most of them and i plan to read them again later.
  10. yeah, i, too, hate those pop-windows. it's true that they just drive customers away. that's what usuallly happens to me--i get out of a webpage because of too many pop-ups..
  11. that audio thing is also one thing i hate about some websites. but you could always do something about the volume--or about turning it totally mute! but when the website has these awful colors, WAH! your eyes will surely curse you for opening that page!
  12. hey thanks for those links for html. i've been wanting to learn those complicated codes to make my blog better. right now, i just depend on free blogger templates that i see online. although, so far i have provided my blog with a great template, i sure want to make my own which completely speaks me.

although i'm still a beginner when it comes to web designing, i have to agree that notepad can be so taxing to beginners! we've had it during secondary school and college and while it really tests your diligence, it can be frustrating because you actually know that you can achieve the same effects without putting too much work. anyway, my cousin suggested microsoft frontpage to me when i complained about notepad--do you think it's a good idea? i haven't really tried using it since i'm still into exploring adobe photoshop at the moment.
