  2. wow your 17? i think its not about the age, if you are a designer its your talent that matters, what good is a 30 yrs old if you are way better than him lol
  3. if you cant find any tutorials for that, try to familiarize all effects in photoshop, you will soon realize how to combine them to have your own original effect, its all about experiments in photoshop sorry if i wasnt a big help but just a thought
  4. if you want to edit the IE bugs, try this in your css this for forefox YourDivName{ your css code here } this for IE *html YourDivName{ your css code here } the *html will indicate that this is code is only for IE so you can make changes only to IE i think it has to do in your padding, when you are making css, you should always check it in those two browsers while your coding, as it is hard to trace when the there are a lot of codes
  5. well i have been using imageready to optimize my images for the web, it will optimize it in gif but the image quality is really good, the purpose of using gif to load the page faster, but you only need to use it in your web layout, not in images for the contents and such, hope this helps.... oh yeah png is ok in IE7, does not look good and previous IE, it makes the shadows like a blue color but i think there are scripts that fix those problems cheers!!!
  6. have you ever considered using blogs like wordpress or blogger? they are good for creating websites.... but if you like to make it from scratch, practice in slicing up the images and how to put it to html, there are a lot of tutorials out there
  7. hey check out my site in my sig , i have some psd templates free for downloads, i have been making web2.0 templates there for fun, feel free to download some its just a new site so enjoy
  8. wordpress is good, you can add some plugins and has a lot of free themes in the net.... but i use blogger as it is easy to use than wordpress, its good for a newbie like me, and you can edit the code too even though its free, wordpress wont let you edit if you are using their free service
  9. well the background image looks good but its really distracting as it is very big and makes the nav's a bit off to the color, maybe you could add some background table or a box to separate the featured work and latest news, try to make it simple and clean, i think that what it says in your header quote
