IE css issue / Blockhover

Featured Replies

ok.. my hover is working in ff and opera even chrome blablal, however IE is having some problems:

should / is pics:

blockhoverqq0.gif

note: its working fine with divs, but for some reason not with li, but i would like to use a list

most likely the the spaces is caused by the <b> complex, as every space is as one would expect if i remove them.. (but i wont for layout reasons ;)

hover structure:

<div id="tags">
<ul>
	<li>
		<b class="grey_white_1px"></b>

		<a href="">
			<span style="float: right;">14%</span>
			videos
		</a>

		<b class="grey_white_1px"></b>
	</li>

	<li>
		<b class="grey_white_1px"></b>

		<a href="">
			<span style="float: right;">11%</span>
			links
		</a>

		<b class="grey_white_1px"></b>
	</li>
</ul>
</div>

involved css:

#tags ul {
list-style-type: none;
}

#tags ul li {
margin: 2px;
display: block;
}

#tags ul li a {
display: block;
color: black;
text-decoration: none;
padding: 2px;
padding-left: 3px;
font-weight: bold;
background-color: #f2f2f2;
}

#tags ul li a span {
color: #808080;
font-weight: normal;
font-size: 9px;
}

#tags ul li a:hover {
background-color: #e5e5e5;
}

.grey_white_1px {
 display:block;
 height:1px;
 overflow:hidden;
 font-size:.01em;
 background:#e5e5e5;
 border-left: 1px solid white;
 border-right: 1px solid white;
 }

maybe one of you is having an idia what could be the problem :]

Without looking to much into your code try adding padding:0px; to your li in css.

uhm.. ok.. i used to reset my css, so same applies here.. though.. padding: 0; doenst bring it (just tested ;)

:(

(wow quick reply btw =)

EDIT:

ok.. i switched to the div solution, thx

(might be closed)

it's due to the fact your b element is set to display block (which takes up the whole line) either add float or encapsulate with span or use small low res img

if you want to edit the IE bugs, try this in your css

this for forefox

YourDivName{

your css code here

}

this for IE

*html YourDivName{

your css code here

}

the *html will indicate that this is code is only for IE so you can make changes only to IE

i think it has to do in your padding, when you are making css, you should always check it in those two browsers while your coding, as it is hard to trace when the there are a lot of codes
