  1. In response to the feedback so far I have added a colour change for hovers over the navigation menu. Contact page/form coming next. Thanks to all so far for suggestions.
  2. I think this latest iteration with the reflections is the best so far. I can foresee you might use the cube on the left or right of the text when space dictates and this is where consistency will help. So having reflections on the text and cube would get my vote. Please show us a version without the demo demo demo across it because it's not like someone is going to start a company called pixelise designs and run off with your little cube. It might also be helpful to mock up the different versions of your logo - for example, a black and white version, version with cube on the side and whatever else you can think of.
  3. Thank you. I agree about the hover colour for the menus. Changing the background is an interesting idea. I thought about it before but couldn't think how to make it work. Do you think it would be better to then extend the header to full page width (but keep the logo and search and navigation where they are) and have the background image fill the rest of the page? I just worry that having a background image with blank whitepace on the sides would look odd. Please let me know what you think. Michael
  4. I like the colour scheme and the gritty theme which you have connected together with the colours, typefaces, and brick background texture. Things my eye noticed: The large headings which are above each section (for example 'WELCOME' top left on the home page). Are indented slightly from the left. I would move it over to the left those extra few pixels so it lines up with the following text, or indent the text to match the graphic. Those large header images also have an underline as part of the graphic - could you make that line gritty to match the typeface? And also I would extend the line/image so it is the same width as the text area below. The main logo image. I would center the logo graphic. The red space on the right looks empty and unbalanced. That's my 2cents.
  5. That's a very good point. I do get most of my contacts via direct email, which I have details listed for all over the site. But it couldn't hurt to add a contacts form of some sort. I will look into Drupal plugins and see if they have one. Thank you.
  6. I liked the landing page design. The colours and shapes are lively and I think that works considering the content. When I started looking around the site a bit I found things less consistent though. So although the colour-scheme remains, the gallery pages feel different to the blog pages. From my own experiences I realise it can be difficult to integrate various tools and templates and pages to all conform to the same look. But working towards it makes a big difference to how unified everything feels. Looks like your trip was fun!
  7. Hi. I am a photographer, and I made this website myself using Drupal and a few hours of CSS changes from standard templates. I would like feedback about the visual design/layout and also the functional design of the site including the galleries. http://www.michaelbel.com All feedback is welcome. Thanks for your time. Michael
