Do You Work From Home?
To the web designers/developers who work from home: 1) How often do you get work? 2) HOW do you get work? (how have you managed to get paying customers/how do they know about your services) 3) Do you work from home exclusively? 4) How much do you earn per year? (on average, if this is too personal it is fine to skip this question)

Dear Moderators
Dear moderators, I am making this thread as I can't send a private message (need 25 posts). English is not my first language so hopefully this is reading well. Please can you delete my threads (all of them apart from 'Look forward to your feedback') as my question wasn't expressed quite as well as I wanted it to be and I request them deleted. When this is done please delete this thread? Thanks, Dustin

Need Advice :(
I made this thread in General but am reposting here as I'm trying to get Technical advice: Hi guys, just wondered if anyone else knows about this cookie law from the EU? I'm still learning how to make websites (thinking of making a career of it in the future) but this new cookie law concerns me. I'm not intending to have cookies on any website but it seems that if you just make a simple flash video (like a short clip of a spinning graphic or similar) and add it to your site, apparently you have to declare this under a 'cookie policy' as flash puts LSO's (flash cookies) in flash files by default. So: 1) Is there a way to remove flash cookies from a flash file created in the the Adobe Suite? If yes, what version? 2) How would someone even explain in a 'cookie policy' that they only use cookies for entertainment purposes for their website and aren't interested in using flash cookies to collect personal data? 3) I am a newbie with flash, so how do I know that these LSO's aren't collecting user data without my knowledge? 4) How have you guys (if you have a website that uses any cookies) gone about making your website compliant with the new EU cookie law? 5) Are there alternatives to making an animation free of any cookies? (I know about GIF's, but they are terrible quality from my experience). Thanks

Look forward to your feedback
I'm interested in becoming a web designer in the future and wanted some input from those of you already in work (I'm particularly interested in sole trader types who are self employed). My questions are: 1) How long have you been doing web design? 2) How long did it take you for you to start landing jobs? 3) Any advice on the best ways to network? 4) Which is better: self employed or in-house? Look forward to your feedback.
