bijutoha reacted to Seth in The big list of HTML and code editorsEditor name: Notepad ++
Web site link: http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/site.htm
Price: Free Open Source
Brief description:
Notepad ++ is a free (as in "free speech" and also as in "free beer") source code editor and Notepad replacement that supports several languages. Running in the MS Windows environment, its use is governed by GPL License.
Based on a powerful editing component Scintilla, Notepad++ is written in C++ and uses pure Win32 API and STL which ensures a higher execution speed and smaller program size. By optimizing as many routines as possible without losing user friendliness, Notepad++ is trying to reduce the world carbon dioxide emissions. When using less CPU power, the PC can throttle down and reduce power consumption, resulting in a greener environment.

bijutoha reacted to C A R in SEO strategy for new websitesWhen it comes to link building, avoid low quality links. They are not worth your time and they are likely to go against your SEO efforts. Aim for genuine, higher quality links. Consider genuine link opportunities with other people within your industry.
Keep the code of your website clean and tidy. Ensure headers are appropriately wrapped in header tags, and try and ensure every page has a clearly identifiable header and amount of body copy.
Ensure your content reads well. There is little use having a website ranked at the top of a search engine if the content is poor and puts people off. You'll just get a lot of wasted visits. Make your copy as SEO friendly as possible, without compromising on the readability.
I've written a few more SEO articles here http://sozodesign.co.uk/blog/seo/ which hopefully you find useful, and might give you a few more pointers in the right direction

In my experience, the most important thing is new fresh content. If your new blog post has original text (even if it's about an old topic) you will be ranked highly for the main keywords of that blog post. I find the title (h1 tag) of the new post will rank highly.
My advice is, if you have a new topic to talk about, research the related terms / keyphrases using Google Adwords. You'll find the hot topics there i.e. the phrases with the most search volume. Also check the local search volume results.
Then optimise your new post with that term. Your home page will not rank because of it but your post will, and this will hopefully result in click through to the rest of your website. That traffic will also help your ranking.
Also make sure you make use of Google Authorship. Apart from anything else, it makes it easy for you to see your pages in serps because your profile pic appears in the results!
