  2. Hi Steve The sidebar columns usually have modules assigned to them (like login, search etc). In the Administrator section if you go to Modules / Site Modules you will see which modules have been assigned to your left and right columns (usually called left and right but not always - it depends on your template). If you open up each module that is shown in your columns on the right hand side of the Edit Module you will see a list which shows which pages that Module is shown on. Choose which pages you wnat - maybe just Home and Save the module. DO the same for each module which is shown in your left and right columns. That should do the trick. Regards Toni
  3. Hi I'm a fan of Joomla. It already has built in permissions for Editor, Author, Publisher, but thiere is a good add-on JACL (you can use the free version or buy a subscription) which gives you even more flexibility in terms of who can access what. I've used this many times as for a number of my websites I have Members sections. I'd advise using Joomla 1.0.15 rather than the newer 1.5.2 - it will do everything you want it to do and there are heaps of add-ons that you can add. Regards Toni
  4. Hi A great CMS to use is Joomla (www.joomla.org). I've been using this for a while and it is a great way to go for websites where the end user knows nothing about web design / html etc. Joomla itself is free as it is Open Source, it comes with a couple of templates built in and there are plenty more free ones about. You do need to find web hosting that can supply MySQL database. Personally I recommend www.yoserve.com. They have some cheap web hosting packages and some that install Joomla at the touch of a button - how's that for instant! Toni Web design and CMS expert (www.qivva.com)
