Hello, I've never worked in real life for a web-dev company so I have no idea about pricing of such websites. I'm self-employed, starting as a new company with 4 years experience. How much would you suggest should charge for websites such as: Four page website design (home, product, about, contact) - All html/css work A small CMS website (update/delete/new products - one module) - charge by module? I know a lot of companies charge by how many pages they do. Why do they do this? Surely you just design one page and then copy and paste that page and put in the content (or make a template system). I'm thinking of placing fake orders in companies around me just to see what they come up with. Is that a good idea?
  3. Did you review the revised mock-up?
  4. Thanks for the feedback. I believe I took it all on board. I went for a dark camouflage background so it's not so loud (as the current design is), I also added some army men along the footer, and added a steel look to the side bar. What do you think?
  5. Thanks for the feedback. I've already designed one that had camouflage and used it for a few months. But a few people complained that they didn't like the camouflage idea so this time I tried to stay away from it. What would you suggest I do to help improve it but not go all camouflage?
  6. Hello everyone, I've redesigned a friends (help) gaming website, it's for the game series Call of Duty. With that said, it should have a game, army and friendly feel to it. How has it worked out? http://i.imgur.com/5yTlJ.png PS - Media images, and website name(s) have been replaced.
  7. I'd love to do that but I know the client wouldn't like it. I'm not very good at gaming designs and I have one to design soon, I'm not looking forward to it
  8. Seeing as you've said you have already build the PHP, I'm guessing you mean a CMS editor? http://ckeditor.com/ It's the one I've using to build my current CMS clients website.
  9. The links on the page you've provided don't 'jump'. The links on the menu go bold upon hovering and the content links underline when being hovered. No links jump when being clicked on. EDIT - Why do you have one domain for the main website and another domain for testing? Why didn't you make a sub-domain?
  10. Web 2.0 is something that clients love to ask for in their websites But seriously, I agree with Dove. On topic: The designs are nice, professional and clean. They'd need to be used by a business of course, nothing else (from the pictures I'm guessing you already had that planned).

  14. Could be your CSS conflicting with something. Do you need it to be in a table? If not try this: <div style="width:100%;"> <span style="font-size:16px;float:left;width:150px;"><a href="http://www.mylink.com">Read Full Review</a></span> <span style="font-size:16px;float:right;width:150px;text-align:right;"><a href="http://www.mylink.com/2">Click To Buy</a></span> <br clear="both"> </div>
  15. Sorry, I coded that on the forums without testing it. I just tested this in Dreamweaver and it works for me: <table style="border: 0px solid #0000FF" bgcolor="#F8F8F8"> <tr> <td colspan="2"><span style="font-size:16px;float:left;width:150px"><a href="http://www.mylink.com">Read Full Review</a></span> <span style="font-size:16px;float:right;text-align:right;width:150px"><a href="http://www.mylink.com/2">Click To Buy</a></span><br clear="both"></td> </tr> </table>

  18. As already said search engines can't pick up what type of website it is without text content. Title, tags and description help but the content does it. I checked your source code and you don't have a page title (apart from the homepage), tags or description. You will need to redesign the website to change the text in the image to true text. That is the best solution you have.
  19. As said it's a nice design, but not for a gaming website.
