  1. Maybe technically impressive to some for about 10 seconds Actually poorly designed for the visitor- Full of meaningless terms like "pushing the creative envelope" which actually tell you nothing. Too many blocks of tiny text that I can hardly read. -
  2. You can't just "use" Google images - all the results are copyrighted images unless the originating sites specify their use is permitted.
  3. Hi I'm looking for a vey simple FREE Project/task time recording program. I really just need something that will record the hours spent on a particular project - and I usually only have one on the go - a kind of task counter stop/pause start watch really that I can return to to tot up the hours spent . I'm looking a a trial of Easy Time Tracking Pro but to be honest its a bit too much for what I want and not keen on it - it's not that intuitive to use in my experience Would prefer download to PC rather than web based which some are. EDIT: I've just found PLOCK which lookslike its just what I need
  4. I guess you could place it in an inline frame (iframe) if there is room for it.
  5. What a great enjoyable read it is . I'm just as far as the "using tabs" section so far . A really clear, well written and often funny book. Borrowed from my local public library. -
  6. Simply make the pages you require - place then in a folder on the server - Most Hosts provide Password Protected folders which are very easy to use - even for beginners - All the scripting etc is done for you automatically - see your Host control panel and you select the folder you want to protect and can add/remove usernames/passwords to access it. You password protect the folder and thus all pages within that folder - That's the easiiest and probably most secure way to do it. -
  7. What's a "production environment" anyway? A "real" webstore? Is it actually being used yet anywhere?
  8. Ok I've been playing around with the CSS menu generator from here: http://wonderwebware.com/css-menu/ Easy to use - looks fine in Firefox & Opera - should look like this for example Move over produces sub menu : But it goes haywire in IE7 : Haven't been able to get it to behave at all In IE7 Can look like this I know IE has had "issues" with CSS menus but - Emailed the program makers but no reply. I'm no css/html guru sand may have missed something obvious but it would be nice to get this to work! the code is here Between head: <style type="text/css" media="screen"> #menu { width: 100%; background: #0000A0; float: left; border-top-width: 1px; border-right-width: 1px; border-bottom-width: 1px; border-left-width: 1px; border-style: solid; border-color: #004080; } #menu ul { list-style: none; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: auto; float: left; } #menu a { font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; font-weight: bold; font-style: normal; display: block; margin: 0; padding: 2px 3px; color: #FFFFFF; background: #0000A0; text-decoration: none; } #menu a:hover { color: #FFFFFF; background: #400080; } #menu ul li a { border-top-width: 0; border-right-width: 1px; border-bottom-width: 0; border-left-width: 0; border-style: solid; border-color: #FFFF00; } #menu ul ul li a { border-top-width: 0; border-bottom-width: 1px; border-right-width: 0; border-left-width: 0; border-style: solid; border-color: #FFFF00; } #menu ul li a.lastone, #menu ul ul li a.lastone { border-top-width: 0px; border-right-width: 0px; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-left-width: 0px; } #menu li {position: relative;} #menu ul ul { position: absolute; z-index: 500; width: 12em; border-top-width: 1px; border-right-width: 1px; border-bottom-width: 1px; border-left-width: 1px; border-style: solid; border-color: #004080; } div#menu ul ul, div#menu ul li:hover ul ul {display: none;} div#menu ul li:hover ul, div#menu ul ul li:hover ul {display: block;} </style> <!--[if IE]> <style type="text/css" media="screen"> #menu ul li {float: left; width: 100%;} </style> <![endif]--> <!--[if lt IE 7]> <style type="text/css" media="screen"> #menu ul li a {height: 1%;} #menu a { font: bold 12px Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; } </style> <![endif]--> Between body: <div id="menu"> <ul><li><a href="/">TIMETABLE</a> <ul > <li><a href="" >MONDAY</a></li> <li><a href="" >TUESDAY</a></li> <li><a href="" >WEDNESDAY</a></li> <li><a href="" >THURSDAY</a></li> <li><a href="" class="lastone">FRIDAY</a></li> </ul> </li></ul> <ul><li><a href="">ABOUT</a> </li></ul> <ul><li><a href="">CONTACT</a> </li></ul> </ul> </div>
  9. For the home news page my first feeling is I think its OK and will quickly get used to it. However I always have "ignore font sizes specified on web pages " set on IE and the largest text as I prefer that , finding most page text too small with my PC set up and the distance I am from the screen. -
  10. Yes, you'll probably need a good non flash light source but make sure the fish aren't disturbed by it.
  11. I installed Notepad+++ but everytime i tried to then view a page in a browser from Notepad+++ it would just launch and open a page in a Google search. If couldn't easily see the results of the code I wasn't going to keep it. As with most open source actual help was minimal - -
  12. Nah.....Handcoding is so passe these days.... I know people who use their feet. It's the only way if you don't want to be left out of the Web 3.0 boom. - -
  13. You know it wasn't unlike some time into that I realisedi t i was a spoof. Microsoft still talk like that.
  14. Go to IE tools/internet options/accessability / Is "ignore font sizes on webpages" ticked? View/Textsize set to meduim? Then refresh page.
  15. Awww, lemurs are so cute...how can you not like that.
