  2. Hello! Have you tried using GET? You may assign a value to a variable in your links. The example below uses pageNum as a variable (with a value of 1 -- pageNum=1). http://www dot yoursite dot com/index.html?pageNum=1 <?php if( $_GET["pageNum"]==1 ) { header( 'Location: http://www.yoursite.com/pageNum1.html' ) ; } elseif( $_GET["pageNum"]==2 ) { header( 'Location: http://www.yoursite.com/pageNum2.html' ) ; } ?>
  3. Hey there! If you're using wordpress there's a free plugin called WordSocial that allows you to publish your posts to Facebook and/or Twitter. I'm thinking of adding it to my site but I haven't had the time yet. :-) Look it up on Google.

  5. I agree with everybody! Don't use frames. Use CSS to define the link section or if you're using PHP, use include (see sample code below). They work the same way. :-) <?php include("links.php"); ?>
  6. Hello! I think you rarely see desktops and laptops with resolutions below 1280x800. Anyway, if you really want your site to display well on smaller resolutions, you may use conditional CSS which would require some scripting knowledge. I suggest you create a separate css file for smaller screens which will be called only when resolutions are below 1280x800. Anyway, a lot of sites now have mobile versions. They use scripting as well to improve how their sites render on smaller devices (Iphone, etc.). Try researching those. :-)
  7. Hello! Wordpress is the best choice for someone new at CMS. You only need to tweak a few things but it's the easiest CMS out there to download and deploy. By the way, do you plan to create your own layout using Pshop and Dreamweaver? I bet there are downloadable WP themes for art gallery sites, some are for free but you have to pay for others. Anyway, if you still want to do a theme, you should google "Creating Wordpress themes". Wordpress is awesome! You'll like it!
  8. Hello! This step-by-step tutorial (themetation dot com/2008/07/14/how-to-create-wordpress-themes-from-scratch-part-1/) really helped when I made my first from-scratch theme. It lists and defines all Wordpress required pages and even discusses image slicing for your page layout. It's a few pages long but just keep at it. You'll have a working theme if you'll just follow the steps. Good luck!
