Help please , /%postname%/ is no longer working for me so many of my indexed pages are not working on my site. My site had been working perfectly , i dont know what i have changed or if it is a plugin issue ! all the pages are still there , but when i click on my link "show plates news" my site is showing :- http://www.show-plates.com/category/show-plates-news/ no pages load where previously it was working fine as :- http://www.show-plates.com/show-plates-news/ the pages are still there , if you copy and paste this link. i have been in :- settings / permalink settings. i previosly and still have the setting to :- custom structure :- /%postname%/ Wordpress is the latest version. pluggins i have installed and activated:- Askimet (spam protection) fast secure contact form iframe widget w3 total cache wordpress seo all are the latest upto date version.... please help.

Ah okay , this is a word press site , i dont have html experince , is this possible via the wordpress interface ? thanks you .

Google analytics , says i have 17 duplicate meta descriptions how do i change this to be different for every page ? I am running wordpress the latest version , i have installed yoast as my seo plugin, would this automate the changes ? or is there something else i should be doing. i would like my site to be as seo friendly as possible.

I have added yoast and xml site map to my wordpress site, both say they ping google , bing and yahoo, but i have not setup bing or yahoo webmaster accounts (do they exist?) would it be best for me to do this , or will the ping and xml site map be good enough to keep them both happy with updates to my site. do yahoo and bing need me to set the www. and non www for duplicate content reasons my domain name is a .com so do i need to tell yahoo and bing that my .com site is intended for there UK search results

I read on there support board how to do this , i basically i went into admin / settings / reading and set the static page option and the post page to my news page All i would now like to do is to set the post to be full width(ive asked the theme support forum)

Hi , i added myself to around 30 directorys yesterday all page rank 2 to 4 but on most of them i had a choice , pay for entry or do a reciprocal links , so i did the reciprocal links onto a page on my site fairly well tucked away. will i get the same worthyness with these backlinks using the reciprocal links as opposed to spending money and paying for each submission...

I've been looking at wordpress.org for free SEO plugins , but i'm not sure which one to use ? I would like as much automation as possible. Any reccomendations would be welcomed.

good news the front page of my site has been indexed when i type in the full domain name into google it pulls up details for the front page.... when i do a site:mydomain.com , it shows the same keyword text for page it has indexed...so i'm not sure why that is , all content is different on each page it is a wordpress site. at least i have some peace of mind and now i need to start doing some s.e.o how often am i likely to see a change to my rankings ? if i added fresh content/news every 2 - 3 days would i be crawled more often ? if i'm crawl more often , when is each crawl weight added to my ranking , so i will be pushed up through the ranks ?

hi I removed the no index 3 days ago the site is around 4 weeks old. the site has around 20 pages. when i type in site:www.show-plates.com it shows 4 pages indexed , but not the homepage... how do i generate a xml sitemap with wordpress ? lets pretend for future reference , if i was setting another new site , how much quicker does using a xml sitemap speed up the process of indexing ?

advice please :- Basically my first site www.show-plates.com, its a wordpress site , i've had the privacy set to no index , while i worked on the site , last friday i took off the privacy setting to allow search engines to crawl my site.... when i type in my full domain name , it does not appear at the top but 3rd one down....but its just the domain name that shows in the listing , same for Yahoo and Bing. I cant work out if its been indexed or not....or the way it shows in the engines , do the engines just know my site exists , because i've asked them to crawl my site etc and they have yet to crawl the site ? With me been new to S.E.O and websites...the time it seems to be taking for the site to be crawled etc and my lack of experince is not helping as i'm not sure how long it should/could / would take... I've set up a google webmaster account , i've setup both the www. and none www. version , choosen one etc , veriefed both addresses , but when in google webmaster account , it basically says " No Data " for most things i havent upload a xml sitemap to google...as i'm unsure how to generate one...but is that really a important thing to do ? can someone offer me some advice please.
