I recommend you to buy HP(Core 2 duo) laptop as it is more cheaper and much compatible with all the OS...either its XP or vista or WIN 7...Thats all i can advice....

I dont think that i am gonna buy ipad for me although its kool but i guess that my laptop functioning is also same as that of ipad....there is not much difference between them....

Well, i have both....Desktop is good for designing purpose....but its not portable...Laptops are very easy to carry anywhere u go either its a business purpose or something else...As laptops dont have any problems regarding wires as compared to Desktop...can be easily taken to any corner of home....but its battery life is not too long...if u wanna want for family use then i guess desktop is better otherwise for portable purpose you must opt for laptop...

I think windows 7 is better option than Mac....As win 7 is much compatible than mac..

Smith:The template is really nice and simple but i think that some spark is missing...use sum more colours to make it an attractive eye candy....

Well, the softwares used for designing still today are photoshop, Dreamweaver and Flash.

Well i suggest that you should opt for joomla because joomla has lots of components available on Joomla Extensions.Its is one of the mostly used CMS and easy to use even for new user.By using CMS you just have to change the news on daily basis rather making HTML page everyday.Go Ahead....All the Best....

I am very glad to hear that you are a good developer and besides that you want to become designer. As such you are developer so technically you must be very sharp but for becoming good designer you need to be creative also.For designing you should be fully used to photoshop and flash and other things required for designing.So your choice about the colour should be good.Use banners and flash effects for making your profile attractive.But one thing i must say that if you know bit designing or its aspects than you yourself can learn otherwise i'll recommend you to take coaching for this particular course.You need to learn CSS and also you should have knowledge about graphic designing.
