Clearing issue
Hi I have three div's being created by my CMS (drupal) which are all placed within another div, the layout is this <div class="views-row views-row-ll views-row-odd"> <div class="views-field-title"> <div class="views-field-field-accom-image-fid"> <div class="views-field-field-short-description-value"> If i put a border around the container div it stretches down as far as the bottom of the text in the last div, but if the image in the middle div is bigger, the border does not cover it. Can someone point me to where I have gone wrong? The css is along the lines of .views-field-field-accom-image-fid img { background:none repeat scroll 0 0 #EEE; border:1px solid #DDD; float:right; margin:4px 8px 0 0; padding:5px; } .view-display-id-page_1 div.views-field-title { background:#eee; clear:both; margin:0 0 4px 0; padding:2px 0 4px 8px; } .view-accommodation strong { font-weight:700; } .view-accommodation li { list-style:circle; margin:1px 5px 2px 22px; } .view-accommodation p { margin:6px 5px 0px 8px; } .view-display-id-page_1 div.views-row { border:1px solid #DDD; margin:0 0 8px; } You can see the problem on the next to last accommodation at the bottom of this page http://dev.alpbase.com/

Storing Client Passwords
RoboForm is very good for storing passwords and client details securely. I have been using it for 3 years now and have tried about five other alternatives in that time, trying to find a free option, but there is nothing that competes with it. Definately worth the 20 quid. it makes it such a doddle to quicky log into different cPanels, webmails etc to sort client issues out.

client side calculator
Hi I have a client who wants a client side calculator on his site. His existing site is at www.cham-van.com, I have a work in progress on his new site at www.cham-van.com/temp and he wants the book online box to show the prices on the fly in almost exactly the way one of his competitors at http://www.geneva-chamonix-transfers.com/ does in the Quick Quote box. I have no experience at all with client side scripting and dont know where to start. I am guessing that I need to use javascript to do it. If anyone could give me a short breakdown of what i need to go away and learn that would be great. Cheers Phil

Help with IE glitch - speed related I think
ok, i tried using a different css grid framework to see if that fixed it. i tried the yui framework from yahoo. but the problem persists. i am pretty certain that it is the rendering of smallbox.png associated with the .smallbox .t class that is being overtaken by y-repeat rendering of bg_repeat.png for the body background. I was hoping to use a sprite for the rounded corner effect, but if this is the issue i guess i will have to cut it up so that .smallbox .t uses an image that is smaller than bg_repeat.png does anyone think i am on the right lines here? any suggestions?

Help with IE glitch - speed related I think
Hi This was working fine on my local machine but now I have uploaded it to the server it doesnt display properly. It works fine in firefox, and it works ok if you hit refresh in IE but does not work on the first load of the page, or when you load the page by clicking on the menu. The page that is a problem is this one (temporary location) http://www.cham-van.com/temp/index.asp and basically in IE the bottom left hand side of the 'Cham Van Offers' box doesnt render properly when you load the page by clicking on the 'About Us' menu. But hit refresh and it is OK. The fact that it loaded ok on my local machine makes me think that it is something to do with speed. Perhaps the background image is loading much faster than the box background image and so overwriting it. If so is there a way I could force it to stay behind the box background? Cheers Phil

website review request
Thanks for the +ve comments. I thought that the green/orange mix looked OK (funnily enought just noticed similar colours on the heart internet add at the top of this forum) but am not sure that the green text on the rhs is dark enough. I know that I always have trouble with my writing/grammer. I will have a proof read over the weekend Cheers again Phil

website review request
Hi I have just converted my website for computer support in the French Alps and bilingual website design over to Drupal from Wordpress. I have created a new design for it at the same time. I needed a bilingual site and the current multilingual feature set of Drupal 6 is not strong enough so I had to make the site in Drupal 5 using the i18n module. Another module that I consider critical that is not yet available for Drupal 6 was the XML sitemap module. Other modules used were FCK Editor, Google Analytics, Meta Tags, Pathauto, Poormanscron, Token, Update status, Webform and Tagadelic. Notably quite a few of these also only exist in beta or release candidate for for Drupal 6 so pushing the choice towards staying with Drupal 5 for now. I would be happy to hear any comments on the site. Cheers Phil Ingle

image border
Hi Rob I tried that on my local test machine and it didnt work for me. I could see that the the css was being applied because if i changed the margin value it would change my page. but no changing of the border value worked. I even got rid of the a img { border: 0; } completely and it still didnt work. looking with firebug i cant see anything overriding the border value. i am a bit stumped.

image border
Hi On this site www.chamex.com I have set up two css entries to control linked image borders. Initially at the top of the css i have img,a img { border:0; } to get rid of them by default. Then further down in the css i have #main img,a img { border:2px; border-color:#A6BD22; margin:5px; } so that images in the main section of the site have a green border. This works for me in ie but not in firefox. can anyone see why it isnt working in firefox? cheers Phil

a couple of layout issues
Hi I am trying to build a new theme for a wordpress site and have a couple of issues. You can see the site here www.alpsexperience.com the first issue is my banner photo. i want it to float to the right in the div that it is in but cant seem to get it to do it. it looks fine in ie6 but is a few pixels to far left in ie7 and firefox. if i make the div to its left a bit wider to push it over then when it gets to the right place in firefox and ie7 it is too wide for ie6. do i need to make some conditional css that sets the width depending on the browser, or should i be able to just right justify to image? the second is the footer. i did have the footer so it was staying below both the sidebar and the main content. and i have gone and done something and it now stays under in firefox but in both ie's it only stays under the sidebar and cuts across the text of the main content. Any help greatly appreciated. Phil
