  1. Hi Guys, I am studying a Bsc Digital Media degree and Ive just moved into my final year. For my final Major Project, I have chosen to build a bespoke CMS for a client. I have a very limited understanding of PHP, having built a couple of sites with SilverStripe and a simple register and login system, and I am looking for opinions on which server side language would be best for me (a beginner) to use for such a project. Any help would be great and would help me to further my knowledge of other suitable languages. Cheers johnp86

    Hi Guys, Im in need of some major help!! I am creating a portfolio website for an artist friend of mine. We are currently considering the design and functionality of the site. My problem is that he wants a slideshow that navigates through the images in that topic by clicking next and previous (not auto). There are then several topics so each (topic)page would consist of different images. Another problem is that these images are all different sizes. I am assuming there is a JQuery function but have not yet used JQ so any help or tutorials to look at would be great. I have attached the files done so far but this is just to show an outline of the design idea so far. Cheers guys website.zip
  3. Hi everyone, I require your opinions on hosting my site. I have just bought my domain name from godaddy.com but I am now over overawed by th vast amount of hosting websites and I dont really want to be paying for something that I am not using. So... The website is my portfolio, simply for me to showcase my work that I have done whilst at university and clients. I am working to a very tight budget and therefore looking for value for money. Any advice would be great, Cheers guys!!
  4. Its very tricky, I went to college to do an IT practioners course and I am now in my first year at uni and we are covering exactly the same modules, so you don't want to be wasting too much time back in school. Tutorials are a good idea, look at lynda.com and total training as they will guide you through as a beginner. This may then give you a clearer idea of which path you wish to take
  5. Hi there. I am looking to build a portfolio that will advertise myself to prospective employees. I was wondering if anyone could give me some feedback on the first two websites I have created. http://www.ecspanels.com/ http://www.nigelweardenifa.com/ Thank you
  6. I am not sure if this gives you the same effect but have a go: #apDiv17 { margin:0 auto 0 auto; width:860px; bottom:0; }
  7. Hi everyone. I have just started up on this website so thought i'd introduce myself. My name is John and I am a student web designer so I am basically here to pick people's brains with problems and theories I may discover on my learning curve.
