  1. Hello Folks, So its about time i put up an online portfolio, i keep looking at different portfolios and keep changing my mind and view on what i like. Anyone care to tell me how they come about designing their portfolio, what gives them that "YES!" factor to decide what to do? Im extremely interested in vector art in websites but i cant draw on paper and unless i have a photo i cant really do vector art! Thanks, Adam
  2. checks that the email address has been entered and is set, then writes the email to a text file and redirects the person to a thank you page.
  3. Yes this would be the best way, have a field in the product table to identify each class, EG: ClassID 1 1 1 3 1 1 2 1 2 3 2 3 3 This means that what you do is order by classid ascending so that all the 1's show first. Another possible way would be a mysql query and a loop to project all results and if ClassID = 1 it will display were that piece of code is. and the same for 2 and 3
  4. Im not helping until you put your code in code tags as i dont know whats text and whats code.
  5. I also agree, the first version is a lot better looking!
  6. mail($to, $subject, $message, $headers); just try changing it to mail($email, $subject, $message, $headers); also heres some more header stuff! // To send HTML mail, the Content-type header must be set $headers = 'MIME-Version: 1.0' . "\r\n"; $headers .= 'Content-type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1' . "\r\n"; // Additional headers $headers .= 'To: ' . "\r\n"; $headers .= 'From: Clean on the sauce! <Adam@dave.com>' . "\r\n";
  7. Considering changing this to a released software for public use, will have a lite version and then a full version, the lite is free and anyone can use it, as for the full version it will come with updates every so often and will be a £10 once off payment. I have a system im going to use for assuring that only 1 site per copy is used. Opinions on this?
  8. Im not too sure, i rarely use CURL
  9. Whats is being used for? as i may have a better way!
  10. Not 100% sure mate, try the PHP manual, people may have scripts to do that! About a link back, until i have a portfolio, No thanks
  11. This is OOP programming so i'd make the index.php this: <?php include("search.php"); $test = new Gamebattles(); if( !$_POST['submit'] ) { echo(" <form action=\"search.php\" method=\"post\"> User Name: <input type=\"text\" name=\"username\" /><br> <input type=\"submit\" /> </form>"); } else { print $test->fetch('http://url.com', $_POST['username'], 'tag to end grab'); } ?> Remove these 2 lines from search.php: $test = new Gamebattles(); $test->fetch('http://url.com','tag to start grab','tag to end grab'); Enjoy, Adam.
  12. <?php class Gamebattles{ function fetch( $url, $firsttag, $secondtag ){ $ch = curl_init();//Initialise CURL curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, $url);//Set the url curl_setopt ($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1);//We want it to return data curl_setopt ($ch, CURLOPT_CONNECTTIMEOUT, 10);//Of course, we don't want your script to run forever, so set a timeout $text = curl_exec($ch);//Execute and get the page $exploded = explode($firsttag, $text);//Make an array of the part before and after the tag $result = explode($secondtag, $exploded[1]);//Grab the part after the tag echo $result[0];//Echo the result curl_close($ch);//Close cURL } } $test = new Gamebattles(); $test->fetch('http://url.com','tag to start grab','tag to end grab'); ?> I used the above code to pull the results of matches from COD matches websites. This may help you, id help you more if i could but im heading out in 10, If no one hashelped you/you haven't got it sorted when i get back ill try and sort you.

  17. Hey, My name is Adam and i am a web designer/developer. I have been in webdevelopment since early 2003 giving me a strong standing stone in the do and don't of web applications. I have made sites mainly based around gaming clans up till 2008, in 2008 i knuckled down and learnt how to code PHP OOP as i had learnt PHP already (im near sure thats when i did it, timing could be a little off). I've worked for many developing MMOCC which are similiar to Habbo Hotel but the present day I have focused my attention on creating a unique website as a marketting tool for other sites. The site is in its phase 1 and i aim to have it in phase 2 with perks etc. added and maybe a change to the way the whole thing works! http://www.raffleyoursite.com if your interested More or less PHP, mySQL, CSS, XHTML, Flash AS3 anda Javascript I have a strong foot in, PHP would be my favourite to code and with OOP its become surprisingly useful for my latest project. Im currently awaiting A level results to see if i can attend university for a Computer Science course Thanks, Adam
