Hi Mike Thanks for the reply. regarding send the item at expense, no, the guy does this offline and either ebay or amazon at the moment and I believe he as a freepost setup. Basically the cash for is niche so theres only a few items. As for the valuation part of the deal, the price is agreed, but the actual payout is done when the item is inspected to confirm that the person the other end was telling the truth. The best comparison I can think of is Musicmagpie.com that has been on the tv quite a lot recently. hope this helps.

I am working for someone who would like to set up a goods for cash site, for example someone wants to get rid of their old goods where they tell us what it is, what condition its in, they send it to us, and based on what condition it is in, we give them a price. I think that its the same basis as an ecommerce website except the price isn't determined until we independently review the product and then pay them, but the person I'm working for doesn't think so. My question is, can anyone in this community recommend any software that would be ideal? The nearest I've got is cash for gold software. Please, any feedback will be gratefully received.

Hi Robbie Put the animated GIF back down and walk away from the scene. Good ..... Good. Animated gif still conjures up memories of websites with all these tacky moving things. Having said that, less is more: Maybe something like a subtle colour change might work. Or something that animates just once so it doesn't send ones head in a spin.

Hi Leanne I am also sounding the self-taught horn: HTML, CSS, Photoshop, PHP, you name it (although I do confess I went to evening classes on a proper web design course so I had something on paper). I started off my web design career with FrontPage so anything after that had to be an improvement! Before I design a website I do look through similar websites to see what they're doing right (what appeals, what seems to be working). I also flick through this and another web design mag and take note of anyhing that seems appealing. From a graphic design perspective, there are enough Photoshop tutorials at your disposal. HTH

Hi all I need to pick some brains: I have started creating emails for one of my clients who is a graphic designer and between us we are getting there. I basically created 2 versions: 1 in .mht format (as requested) and one in .html format (as a fallback). However one of their marketing staff quoted that "there is a difference between .html format for email and .html format for a web page." Has anyone else heard of this, because it certainly is a new one on me! Obviously, I am fully aware of how careful you have to be with layout and setup for an email based in HTML. But I just thought .html was .html whatever its used as. Please could anyone shed any light? Thanks in advance,

Hi all I am currently designing a website for a client of mine based around classic cars. Part of the template includes pencil drawings of cars. My client found a couple of images in an old motoring book that is 55(+) years old and says its exempt, but I being the control freak that I am, just wants to make sure. I know music is exempt after a given time (hence why Beatles/Elvis is now played on radio) but does this cover images from books as well. Any help gratefully received. TIA
