  1. Hey guys, I can't believe this! I'm making a website and it has been tested and works fine for IE7, IE8, Chrome, Firefox and Safari 5, I just checked Safari 4 and 3 and I couldn't believe it! It wasn't right! (using adobe browser labs) Basically the slideshow gallery on the home page here: home page isn't centering up!? Any ideas??? Also on the about and collection pages the div background and border apparently are suddenly non-existent/magical/invisible.... any ideas? I thought I was doing well, It's 4am, silly hour to be working but I wanting to make a big dent in the website so I could get it done quicker! Please please please can seomone help me on this!? Thanks! Edit: Realised I messed up the title, but cannot edit it? Can a mod clean it up for me please?
  2. Sitemap has been submitted. I changed it from index.php to ./ Are you suggesting i set up 301 redirect from index.php to web-design-glasgow.php then? Which doesnt make much sense logically. All I want is for Google to list prettyklicks.com/web-design-glasgow.php instead of just prettyklicks.com/ As the web-design-glasgow.php page is much more relevant and optimised. My page is falling from google. I have submitted to some directories I will try find more. Also @dodi - Very nice work on pixery! Thanks for the replies!
  3. Hey all, Quick question. I recently re-designed my website. However Google insists on keeping my root domain listed for the keywords I want to point to the relevant page. It not only causing it to sit lower as the root level is no longer as relevant its annoying! I unfortunately didn't know too much about seo when I did my last design, I have changed all backlinks to my site to the exact url of the page i want listed for those keywords but it just wont change! Any ideas?? Thanks, Stefan
  4. Hey there, I am curious - You know how people give away free flash mp3 players for embedding and when you right click on them they have link back to their website. I was wondering if this at all helped with SEO to the linked site? Thanks, Stefan
  5. I think in terms of SEO a full re-design would be risky territory if it was an older site with a reputation. However changing text is merely an update as you said the Google monster likes fresh content that is relevant. And it may well be in your favor to do it bit by bit so it looks like little updates, however it's splitting hairs as the relevance will only improve as the content becomes more relevant so as google likes fresh content it wont really list it any higher than the relevance of the content itself... which in my opinion would be a limiting factor... Into perspective... If i had my site updated EVERY day with feeds and manually changed but only had my keyword mentioned once ever... the limiting factor would be the lack of seo quality Whereas if i had a much more relevant content and good percentage of keywords in copy then google will favor this even if the one above is updating more often.. Thats my opinion anyway! Hope it helps... and that i'm right! Stefan
  6. I would like to know as well, I believe there is "tools" out there to see all backlinks... im pretty sure google webmaster can show you, no?
  7. Hey there, I recently spoke with a SEO expert and he said he was excited about his new piece of software that submitted videos to 100's of video websites like youtube including youtube, I was just wondering if anyone knew any good ones and wether they were good methods of seo and worth the money? Thanks, Stefan
  8. It seems all a bit tad obsessive, I guess if they ask for it you give it to them. So just keep two copies as suggested above!
  9. Loving that picture!!! made my day!
  10. I'm not doing a degree nor did I but I can wholly relate to this! Good list
  11. Yep my bookmarks list is quite ridiculous! Although once the old resource is learnt and used i stays there but is never needed! Onwards and upwards... just takes longer to scroll to the bottom!
  12. Surrounded by the light - Tiesto
  13. I take that back I see now. A driving school. I agree, take a look at some templates and get a feel for what you like and then work from there incorporating your own styles. Stefan
  14. First question, do you have something to base the website on?
  15. It's very straight forward use ajax function on jQuery. Make sure your php form responses correctly for handling http://api.jquery.com/category/ajax/
  16. I wont deny it - I think HTML 5 and CSS3 are great! reduces on bandwidth and brings a standard for all to follow. All in good time I say! However I'm not ready yet either! I still to using textmate for designing my websites. Hand coding is just as quick with the right application!
  17. Exactly! I've done plenty of research thank you! Perfect TheNorthernOne, looking forward to hearing from you!
  18. Update: Back online now as you may see -Stefan
  19. It's because the servers down atm, they're investigating.
  20. Not necessarily we would rather work with people we can wholly relate to, either way we don't have money to pay developers, and there is benefits and potential jobs at the end of this. We're not forcing anyone into anything they dont want to, fortunately regarding Ip and copyright, my business partner is a lawyer p.s. i'm not looking for ideas, i got them already
