Hi guys, I hope you can help. Over the last few weeks I have been re-vamping my personal portfolio. As I don't code websites I downloaded a few basic web templates to try them out and see if they would work with my content. The first few didn't but eventually I settled on a layout I like and then manipulated it until I was happy... daniel-sharp.co.uk So, background info over, here is the problem: One of the templates I uploaded initially (through my FTP Client) was Chamberlands Restaraunt v.1 by Code-Sucks.com. After some 'meddling' I decided it wasn't working, and so I deleted all the files off the server and uploaded another template. After checking my result on Google by searching for "daniel-sharp.co.uk", I was confused to find I was listed as: "Code-Sucks.com - Free Layouts - Chamberlands Restaraunt v.1 Logo Design; Website Design; Print; Hosting; Events; Reservations; Directions; Chamberlands Careers; Events; Reservations; Events; Reservations ... www.daniel-sharp.co.uk/ - 4k - Cached - Similar pages" There are absolutley no files on the server relating to this template, so where is Google getting this info from? Does it reset after a few days, or is there something I specifically need to do to change it? Any help is really appreciated

The type of store he runs - they get lots of different bit and bobs through that they sell in the shop, they make to measure and things like that, but I don't think they have a massive warehouse. As I say, not even sure if he'll need to upload products all that often but I need to get an idea of CMS/eCommerce anyway so I though I'd ask. Also, thanks Reaper for the SEO info. It's something I could look in to for larger sites. My clients are really just independent traders who just want a working site to shout about their business. I suppose I could have a look round and see who can offer a good deal. Cheers! Dan

Thanks Dude, Could you point me in the right direction for the ecommerce software? He hasn't as far as I know. He had his site done around 4 years ago. When people talk about SEO what do you mean? I understand the idea of optimising a site for search engines in that you code it correctly, add in the right keywords and tags and make sure the headers are clean... but is there a grander side to it all?? I've seen companies charge £1000+ for 'SEO' but what are they actually doing to the site?? Thanks a lot for your help it is appreciated! Dan

Thanks BlueDreamer, It's a lot more than I had considered. I had only put down £899 as a figure for redesigning and coding the whole site! Adding CMS at the coding stage I thought would be an extra few hours. If I work with my hourly rate I arrive at £1,650. What are the software costs? £300 for actually purchasing software to use in the site? (sorry, completely clueless about these things) Thanks Dan

I have a website that I'm looking at re-designing for a client: http://www.furnking.co.uk/ I've got a quote together but I want to include a price for adding CMS, to update the products on this page: http://www.furnking.co.uk/gallery1.htm ...and also all the other product pages (47 in total) How much would you charge to make these pages update-able? (It would have to be so the client could add a new product and also update prices on existing ones. *I'm not putting this in 'looking for hire' because I'm not sure if the client wants a CMS yet, just looking for a few quotes to get an idea of price.* Thanks muchly Dan

Hello webdesignforum members! I am a freelance Graphic Designer who has studied and hopefully somewhat mastered the art of design.
