August 1, 200818 yr Hi Im not sure whether I have posted this in the correct place, but apologies if I have not. A friend of mine has taken on a hairdressers/salon and the previous owner had a very old fashioned way of keeping client records...on cards. What my friend is looking for is software that records all data, has a comment box, stock control, reminders and other custom features relating to her trade and also integrate with the till. I suppose something like you see in a doctors surgery but on less of a grand scale. Is there a customisable bit of software out there or is she looking at someone making this up for her? If the latter, does anyone have any ideas on who to approach as Ive no idea and would prefer a referral. She is in the Watford, Herts area Thank You
August 1, 200818 yr There's software that can do that, but whether or not it can integrate with the till, I have no idea. (
August 1, 200818 yr Not come across anything which can do ALL of that, including the till thing. To do that as a bespoke system would be a MASSIVE job.
August 1, 200818 yr Sage is great for tracking customers / stock / purchases / invoices / sales, etc.
August 1, 200818 yr That is exactly the sort of project that we would take on at N3W. Not sure if there is an existing off the shelf app available, but we would be very pleased to discuss her requirement with her and write a bespoke solution for her (including till integration). You can contact me through our website www.n3wmedia.com or email me on ed at n3wmedia dot com By the way we are based in Milton Keynes so fairly local to her too
August 1, 200818 yr I would use Sugar CRM run locally with Wampserver. I've got it running for me and it's a great tool. It wouldn't do all the things you want, like stock control, but you could also run the backend of something like magento or prestashop on wampserver, which could handle stock control etc. I know this isn't the easiest solution, but a bespoke system would cost a bomb, and all the tools here are open source. Good luck!
August 18, 200818 yr A system that we have integrated with an ecommerce website is SalesStream (http://www.jsanet.co.uk/) it is also scalable to include additional shops if the business grows
