Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your first site.

Firstly, I see that you're using a combination of DIVs and tables for your site, but the page would be very easy to produce using CSS alone and doing away with the tales. This would make the page more search engine friendly, and more semantic.

The thing that strikes me most about your site, is I don't know what it is? There's nothing on the front page to tell me what the organisation does, and it's aims and processes.

In terms of layout, I think you could do with a little bit more colour - maybe an image of some sort on the front page for visual interest.

The menu works well, and you obviously have some confidence with javascript. I'm also unsire about the need for a google search bar on the header - in some ways you're inviting people to leave the site, when surely, you want them to stay. Folks know where google is - let them find their way there when they've seen enough of your site :pp

Aaaagh tables!

So as not to repeat what notbanksy has said, all I will say is I totally agree.

i totally agree with noblanksy and helen. no tables tables are only for data. your site isn't bad for your first site but it's kinda blah if you ask me. but thats just IMHO. welcome to the forum you're going to love it here. 8)

Well done on getting in there and creating your first site. It's a little light on actual "design" but i'm guessing you probably had your hands full just getting it done. Next steps - aside from CSS for layout as the other guys said - take a look out there on the web at what other's are doing, design-wise, and start to get a feel for what you like and don't like, so you can start to put more 'flavour' into your sites.

I guess the most important thing here is the completion of your first website. And not a bad first one at all. I agree with the others and I'm sure with the help of the great designers here, you will learn what's right and what's wrong.
