May 31, 20188 yr Hi, Firstly, I'm new here so apologies if this is the wrong place. I've been encountering issues when trying to update Wordpress on my site. Everytime I update and reactivate my plugins it takes the Wordpress backend down so I can't even log in to the dashboard. I've tried, only activating plugins that I have recent updates for but encounter the same problem and with 16 in total, doing a trial and error one by one seems impractical. At the moment, I feel like the best option is to delete my theme(Publisher), update Wordpress and then install the latest version of the theme, along with it's associated plugins. However, I'm worried that I will lose my settings and be effectively starting the site from scratch. I'd really appreciate any advice you can offer on the best way to go forward. Thanks.
May 31, 20188 yr It means one of the plugins is broken. Update one at a time. It might be slow but it's the only way to find out which one is broken. Why 16? That a huge amount of plugins, any more than a couple is too many.

I removed the ones that I knew weren't relevant to the site I was building but as erred on the cautious side and didn't remove ones that I'm not sure of. I probably should have mentioned from the outset that I don't make sites professionally and my knowledge is pretty patchy.
