Screen Resolution - Desktop

Featured Replies

I am curious - when designing a website (particularly image and font size) what desktop (not mobile) screen resolution do you design for 1st? I myself - 1280 - 1600 (14pt).

QBQ - Fonts in a 1920 screen resolution seen awfully small (even bing / google search results) and I end up zooming in to 1600 or less. Do I lose sleep and make fonts larger for a larger breakpoint or leave well enough alone. Discuss?

Make the width of the site the correct one for the content.

I've usually found around 1000px to be about right for most things. Any wider and the lines become too long to read comfortably.

Each site will be different - there are no rules.
