Hi all I am back woohoo from my holiday and I thought I'd get some feedback on this template I am working on it's just a protype at the moment but I am looking at developing it further

Looks good. The music player at the top looks great and helps to define what the site's all about at a glance. However, I think the lower sections (Tour Dates, Singles Chart) look a bit plain. Could you box them in like the rest of the sections?

Did you design the top bit yourself? If so what did you use?

 

I think the big Radio, as techy as it is, is rather big, I would be slighty worried about loading times...

 

If your designing for a music company, then it's pretty much what they are into..dark with a techy theme.

 

Ok here is what i think:

 

I hate to see templates that have AA on them when they are only in picture format. Don't do it! IE doesn't have AA on the text.

 

I don't like the player that the top at all. and ian has addressed some gd points about the player in which i agree to.

 

The text in the stars either side of the player are a bit large. it doesn't fit into the stars, it needs to be smaller and centered more.

 

I think that in the featured artists the picture should be inline with the title of the artist. as at the moment it isn't.

 

The buttons underneath the picture next to 'listen new single', which doesn't make sense, shouldn't have white space around them.

 

If you take the whole tour dates thing, i think it needs moving left so it is inline with the featured artist box.

 

The top 10 singles box should also be inline with the tour dates at the top. also i think that the singles name and then the artist, it looks very untidy they need to be spaced out correctly.

 

I don't like the green boxes on the right. again the red buttons shouldn't have white around the edges, i doesn't look gd.

 

All in all i think that the layout needs to be rearranged and looked at. use rulers and snap to make the layout inline.

ok thank you for all your coments first of all the player at the top of the page is size adjustable and it is static at this time and space but soon it will be in a flash movie and size will not be an issue as the whole size of the image when in jpg format is only 20kb

 

as for the content ie charts and tours I agree needs to be aligned as for the AA isn't there a meeting for that? lol

 

 

thanks for the comment ben and yes I designed it myself and I used photoshop cs3 to do it it took a while and a lot of layers

and brushes but hey I think it works, and now I am going to have a flash version soon with drop down cd drawer with a spining cd where you can pick your tracks for downloading and listening.
