Website Review: Deaf Resources Network

Featured Replies

Hey everyone,

I wanted to see if you can review the deaf resources network website, it's basically a website with upcoming events for the deaf/hard-of-hearing communities. The website itself is running on HTML, PHP and MySQL. The reason for MySQL, is to store the data for upcoming movies and upcoming events, the PHP is to format the listings from the data to something more simple such as time being converted from military time to regular time once it's retrieved. I just setup the template pages and let the pages along with the database take care of the rest. I will be putting in more things in the future as the school year starts, especially local graduation dates and information. What do you think?

The website in question is temporarily at http://drn.caspergemini.com

Nice and simple site.

I noticed that site doesn't have redirects www to non-www and index.php to domain URL. At least put Canonical links in header so you will avoid Google penalties.

You advice is very helpful, it's the graphic design is where I hit the wall with, I'm still doing logo sketches before I render them in vector format. (Thank god for inkscape) I also understand that it may look boring, but the purpose of the site is to minimize people's visits, so they can just grab the information, especially on their phones since the majority of the deaf communities uses their phones, and I'm just making it as compatible as much as I can. I appreciate your advice and will be taking some steps to fix the google-related issues.

Keep 'em coming!

your site is very very simple

no images no colors nothing

you should make your website more eye catchy so as to attract more people.

use images, headings, jqueries to make ur design more attractive.
