  6. You advice is very helpful, it's the graphic design is where I hit the wall with, I'm still doing logo sketches before I render them in vector format. (Thank god for inkscape) I also understand that it may look boring, but the purpose of the site is to minimize people's visits, so they can just grab the information, especially on their phones since the majority of the deaf communities uses their phones, and I'm just making it as compatible as much as I can. I appreciate your advice and will be taking some steps to fix the google-related issues. Keep 'em coming!
  7. Hey everyone, I wanted to see if you can review the deaf resources network website, it's basically a website with upcoming events for the deaf/hard-of-hearing communities. The website itself is running on HTML, PHP and MySQL. The reason for MySQL, is to store the data for upcoming movies and upcoming events, the PHP is to format the listings from the data to something more simple such as time being converted from military time to regular time once it's retrieved. I just setup the template pages and let the pages along with the database take care of the rest. I will be putting in more things in the future as the school year starts, especially local graduation dates and information. What do you think? The website in question is temporarily at http://drn.caspergemini.com CasperGemini
  8. Hey Everyone, I'm risking my neck for a banhammer, but I assure you this is legit. I know I don't come here as much as I used to, but I was met with a severe unfortunate event in my life...The passing of my mother to liver cancer. My mother hasn't been there for me in my lifetime, in fact she has missed all of my birthdays, high school and college graduations, and my wedding, but the wedding part I could forgive because she had health issues and her flying from Georgia to Texas wasn't possible for my wedding. I did make a trip to Georgia back in 2010 and met my family on her side for the 1st time in life and I had a great time. Recently I heard that my mother was Diagnosed with Liver Cancer and I had a feeling that this wasn't good. My wife and I gathered all of our life savings for this trip during her spring break from college. We went and spent a week there with her, the family and touring the areas. It was unfortunate that during my trip, my mother ended up in the ER and I bolted over there to see her, they did some testing and procedures to remove fluid build-up behind her liver and she ended up staying there for a while, on that Friday I don't know what happened but for some magical reason, god reunited me and my half-brother whom I met for the 1st time earlier during the week and we all received the devastating news that my mother wasn't going to live long. My wife, my half-brother, my mom and I got together in a group hug while my mom was laying in bed hugging us. I didn't want to leave but I had no choice, I had to leave because my wife had to return to school since the spring break was almost over that day. We flew back home, and found out they were putting her in a hospice, I was heartbroken, and kept in touch with countless videophone calls with my Aunt, my mom's sister. On April 4th, 2014 my Wife and I were having a great time at the Poteet Strawberry Festival since it was the only day the admission and parking was free, we decided to take advantage of that, and we were having a great time, but when I got a text message from my aunt that my mother was getting worse, I had to head home so I could call my aunt, but when I got home and parked the truck, I had received a devastating text message that she was gone. I cried and cried hard to where I was having palpitations in my heart, I just felt like I wanted to pinch myself to the point where I wanted to wake up from this unbelievable nightmare. Even worse I had to have the funeral home cremate my mother and signing the paperwork that was sent to me via email just flatout sucks. My mother has left some things for me and I need to drive from Texas to Georgia so I can get the things from her and have a memorial for her with the family in June hopefully. My wife and I've been doing junking, or dumpster diving, for metals and trying to sell them but it's not generating enough money to reach our $2,500 goal in time. I made a video pleading for donations along with my paypal address and bitcoin address. Donations to either one is greatly appreciated. http://youtu.be/U6uXW7tq8FE Thank you for your time and consideration. Abel 'CasperGemini' Lopez
  9. ok, so I'm using this bootstrap layout from http://startbootstrap.com/simple-sidebar The problem is I want to make the page look like a more modern version of http://www.deaf-interpreter.com the problem I have is setting up the layout, margin-wise so that the User Menu and the content totals around 900px. What should I do?? Thanks in advance! CasperGemini

  14. If you were to look for form tutorial websites that gives you insanely cool tricks on form development and manipulation, where is the best sites ?
  15. I'd like for you to review a website that I basically took over and I'd appreciate a through evaluation and hard-core feedback no matter how insulting it is, the best part about this site is...I didn't develop this site! Basically the last developer that did this site took way too long and did it at the last minute then just left it as it is, I did some updating and modernizing a little bit, I'm currently working on a more CSS version of this site so that it's more mobile friendly (A mobile version of this is in the works!) I am begging you to give me the most honest review/feedback on this site. I will not be mad or feel insulted from your feedback and hold nothing against you. I PROMISE! The funny thing is I actually enjoy taking honest feedback because after all feedback is a learning experience that helps me evolve to be a better webmaster. The site to be evaluated that is actually managed by me is at http://www.deaf-interpreter.com/
  16. Has anyone experimented or tried parsley.js for form validation? I'm working on a form and seem to can't get the validation to work as the user enters the information, and I was wondering if anyone knew about this?? CasperGemini
  17. Ok guys, the front-end is done, I'm about to start the back end (Installing Captcha, Form Input Masking, Validation, and to be sent to an email for processing) What do y'all think so far? http://www.caspergemini.com/dis/grid/poolintake.html

  22. I'm trying to make the bottom part of the form to be invisible when the form loads, and to keep both yes and no unchecked, unless the yes is clicked, then the form appears. Any Advice?? http://jsfiddle.net/CasperGemini/fYtWj/
  23. I agree, but my bosses loves this change because it was just plain blue, and we want our clientele to easily locate the most important part of our website, because this is the majority of our business. Im looking into making this into wordpress and going from there :-)
  24. Jack, THank you for the start of this CSS image, I'll make sure you receive credit for this :-)
  25. I totally agree with you D4Y0, I didn't design the site, the previous webmaster did, and I know this is outdated, in fact I'm working on a more modern version of the site, all with CSS, and minimizing the image use. I am leaning towards using wordpress so that I can edit the pages on the fly without hand coding html and uploading them to the server.
