I'm really stuck on a topic that maybe is familiar for you more experienced web designers.

We are running a chiptuning company in Norway and we have 15 departments spread from south and all the way north.
These dealers are handling software in cars.
They read out the original software and ID-file (so two files that is) and the software is getting modified at our main office and then sent back.

This is how they work today:

 

- Pack the files into *.rar and sends it via email.

- Sends a notice (SMS/facebook) to the main office that a file is waiting for them

- We modify the software and send it back on email.

- We send a notice to the dealer that file is sent.

 

Here is what we are looking for:

 

- Dealers get a login username and password

- They log in to a databank to upload the files

- Each dealer can only see theire "area"
- Uploads file with information about the file

- When uploaded, a notice is sent to us and we download for modifying.

- The dealer see a status "Under work/working"
- We upload file and the file pops up in the dealers data bank.

 

Is there any services out there (not dropbox/onedrive) that we can use?

If not, is this a hard thing to design?

Maybe it's not a good description but please don't hesitate to ask questions.

That sounds simple enough for a competent programmer to build, something like this:

 

1. Dealer uploads a file

- the file is then tagged with the Dealer ID and a File ID

- on upload the file is assigned a "status", eg "Pending"

- on upload send an email to main office to say a new file has been added

 

2. Main office logins in

- "accepts" the file (probably just by looking at the details)

- the files "status" is changed to "Accepted" (the dealer can see this when he logs in)

- email is sent to the Dealer to say the file has been accepted

 

3. Main office uploads a new file

- the file is sent to the dealer

- the dealer is sent an email to say there is a new file

- the files "status" is updated to "Completed"

Yes, that looks more accurate than i described!

So, is there any one in here that would like to take on this kind of programming?

I don't know of anyone here who uses Muse, and saying that Muse is not the right platform for this type of functionality.

It does not have to be made for/in Muse.

This can be a stand-alone website on our server.
